He literally went through us like a hot knife through butter. Yet we won the game. He’s got fantastic pace and quick feet but he just can’t pass or shoot. He could come good. And if he did it would be ridiculously good. But I can’t see it.

£40m does seem steep, but what other wingers could we get for that amount?

Just curious

For 40m pounds we could get Kulusevski or Berardi, that would be a real punt

Would Juve sell him for that though?

Also, I'd be wary of spending big money on Berardi as he is 27, doesn't have much pace, and has played in the Italian league for the whole of his career. Lamela was more impressive when he played in that league.

Diogo Jota went for 45M and is a much better player, 40M for him doesnt seem right

That's what I mean, it's just poor scouting and seems we haven't learn our lesson. Would have hoped we'd improve our recruitment under Paratici, but Liverpool signing Jota for 45 million and us signing Traore for 40 sums up why they are where they are and we are in the europa conference.

Jota is such a well rounded attacking footballer, he is the type of player we should have signed, someone who can get 20 a season from wide.

yeah, it's all well and good naming these names but I've seen nothing from Berardi that suggests he'd be any more effective than Adama.

Also, Juve paid 36m for Kulusevski 2 years ago. 0 chance they'd consider selling him for 40 million.

Watching the highlights and Adama has played multiple good balls so far and we are only at 30 mins. Few very composed cut backs.

Im not sure we can blame Paratici if the Manager badly wants him

Just an example of player evaluation. according to Romano Sassuolo wanted around 35-40m (euro) for Berardi. I would give 15-18m pounds at most for adama as a evaluation. It is goals and assist that cost money and he does not produce that.

Can only go off the MOTD2 highlights at the moment but he didn't look too bad. Think people aren't giving Hugo enough credit for that save.

Saw one say he was on the losing side as if he did it by himself and was the reason they lost.. Was it him on his own then? Did he cross every ball and take every shot and was he in goal giving away the penalty? ?

What winger do people want instead? Good, realistic options please.

The only other alternatives I can think of would be Ismaila Sarr & Noni Madueke.

But both of them would be just as risky as Traore and there's no guarantee that their clubs would sell.

Unless someone exceptional becomes available I'd rather spend what limited budget we have left on an Eriksen replacement, another CF (two if Kane goes) and another RB before adding another winger.

If we had the budget I'd like to see us go for Jeremy Doku but I think he's going to Liverpool
