Adama Traore

The question is: do you want us to sign Adama Traore? As many as are of that opinion say

I’m surprised none of his managers previously haven’t stuck him in the middle of the park as I think he’d be an absolute beast playing alongside PEH. He can tackle, track back, doesn’t get beaten off the ball and can break at speed,

PSV want 40m for Madueke. He would be my other choice. Sarr is another good option but would prob cost north of 40m.

Today just confirmed what I said about him last night.

He isn't what we need as that third attacker. We need someone who can score double digit goals in the league and ideally has a bit of creativity to him too. Martinez would be perfect. We need someone of that ilk.

I just don't get why people want Traore when he doesn't score, That one on one chance summed him up. His end product is pony.

To be a top team each of your front three need to chip in with a lot of goals. Signing Traore would not solve that issue, so why do people want him? Think of a day where Son and Kane have off days, you want a third attacker who can score goals too. If we were relying on Traore to score a goal we'd be screwed.

It really makes no sense to me at all. I'd seriously question the clubs decision making if we spend 40 million on him. In a window where it's clear we haven't got much money, it would be mental.
This. It’s become clear that Nuno’s 433 resembles Liverpool’s 433. A high energy, industrious midfield 3, but one that won’t contribute much in the way of goals over a season.

Liverpool are almost wholly reliant on their front 3 for goals and so will we be. The difference is they have Salah/Mane/Firminho/Jota to select from. We have Son/Kane/Bergwijn/Moura currently. I’m not expecting us to have their quality in depth, but we’d want a minimum of 3 bona fide goal scorers to be able to pull off this system and challenge for top 4.

I thought id take a look at his stats from the PL website - 141 games, seven goals and 14 assists with 19 big chances created.

I mean numbers may go wup with Kane and Son beside him but overall the output is poor.

So we're gonna replace Bale... Mr end product... Best minutes per goal in the league last season with Mr no end product....

Makes sense...

Its not just about his end product though. As a defence you have to deal withhim, you can't just leave him! That creates holes and space for others.
Could do a lot worse imo.

I just cannot get over how much he seems like a player that we'd be looking to shift on after a couple of years and struggle to do so if he comes with a decent price tag on inbound. He ripped us a new one in the first half but created the sum total of sod all, and that's been the case with him seemingly for his entire career.

Putting faith in that he'll create space for our better players and then relying on them to make him seem worthwhile seems a bit much of an ask. You also have to imagine that when his physicality finally starts to drop off he's going to suffer, and then...what on earth does he possibly offer?

For me a great signing for a reasonable price as an option off of the bench or for rotation, but 40m is starting player money, and I just don't know that he is going to be worth that to us. He might be a player that can do a job for us now, but can he become the player for where we're trying to get to?

I'd be more than happy for him to shove my words down my throat of course.

I would hope that we could do a lot better too though for the price mentioned.

he created a great chance for jiminez and in effect created his own 1v1 chance with his run and speed today, granted his finishing isn’t as good as sons or other elite wingers but to say he’s not creative isn’t true, he’s more creative than what we see from bergwijn and lucas half of the games they play
