In terms of pure pace and power there aren’t many who can match him.

I’m just not sure what else he’s got to offer.

Fun to watch in a match where you’re a neutral. But he’s like Lennon in flying down the wing and then… nothing.

Think Traore is being underrated a bit here. He's one of the most press-resistant players in the world and is devastating on the counter. He'd open up loads of space for Son and Kane (or whoever replaces Kane). A frustrating player, yes, but his end product has improved steadily throughout his career and he's still likely years away from his peak. I wouldn't want us to shell out 45m for him but I wouldn't be opposed to us signing him at a more modest fee.

No. Lennon actually achieved things for us and played in huge matches over many years. What has Traore done?

Nowhere near the player lennon was.

But does literally nothing else. Can't finish. No eye for a pass. Doesn't really track back. Poor in the air. I could go on.

Can run fast and is strong. That's literally it.

I would say about Adama, having someone that direct and fast/powerful is absolutely perfect off the bench - not many better super subs. I’d imagine that Gil will be used like that for the first few months of his Spurs career though.

And we've got a manager who sets up on the counter. A player who can't be pressed and who progresses the ball up the pitch is quite useful when the counterpress is the primary tactic your opponents will be using against you. I'm not saying I want us to sign him at any cost, I'm saying I can see why Nuno would want him and that he could be a decent signing at the right price.

He’s not being underrated at all, he’s an awful footballer. We need to get rid of the shit footballers we have, not add a really expensive one. He got 2 goals and assists in the league last season, and he rubs baby oil (or whatever it is) on his arms which is, as we all know, stupid. His end product hasn’t improved steadily - he’s still as erratic as ever, he just had one big purple patch a couple seasons ago and reverted to type last season.

For a club allegedly hard up on money, this makes no fucking sense at all. If we've got that sort of cash to spend on a player, there must 10x better ones out there
Well...it's just an article. If we bought half the players that we've been linked with in the past then we'd be broke by now.

No. Fuck no. He's a one-trick pony who offers nothing whatsoever when he's not doing that one trick.

He was actually quite decent in the 19/20 season and his end product had improved a lot, last season he declined as Wolves did and for whatever reason was dropped from the side a few times too. Unfortunately he kind of falls into that mid, Lucas/Bergwijn bracket of wingers IMO, when we need to be looking a level above that really, if those two are to stay around that is. £45m is a laughable price too.

Apprently the journo reporting this is quite reliable, can see it if we do sell Bergwijn, but not for 45m

"Awful" is vastly overstating it. Wolves were a mess last season having lost Jota and Jimenez and none of their players made a decent return of goals and assists. These are his dribbling stats:

He's certainly mediocre in many respects but he does one thing exceptionally well, progress the ball up the pitch with it at his feet, and it happens to be something that's incredibly useful for a counterattacking setup. I'd never in a million years want him to be a mainstay in a possession-oriented side but he's got his uses.

The only reason we look for another WF (in addition to Gil, Son, Moura and Bergwijn) is to get more goals from the RWF position. Son is prolific on the left, the others not so. Traore brings even less to the table.

Nuno didn’t fancy him much last season even with injuries, would rather we spent on other key areas, when we have enough wingers ✋?
