Adama Traore

The question is: do you want us to sign Adama Traore? As many as are of that opinion say

I'll trust Herc over JPB. This deal remaining alive is also consistent with Trix saying that we aren't in for a striker, and surely if the Adama deal were dead we'd be moving onto other targets. Until one of those things changes you have to think that this is still being worked on.

That's true but that's kind of like saying that Sugar was right in not wanting to sign any more foreign players after the ill fated Popescu/Dumitrescu signings.
Popescu was class. Where as Dumitrescu wasn’t!! On the upside we sold him to West Ham

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

We did indeed but my point was that just because Ndombele hasn't worked out, that doesn't mean that the club should never try and sign a player that the manager wants.

Absolutely I’m in agreement. I was just reminiscing ?

I do think Traore will add something to our side, however if it’s at the expense of a CF I’d be slightly concerned.
Saying Son is going to be playing more centrally is all well and good, but he’s already out best left sided forward, so if he’s playing LWF on a Saturday, and we want to rest Kane midweek, or means Son has to double up.

I'm nearly certain that Scarlett is going to be given chances in the midweek matches. Forgoing a striker just doesn't make sense otherwise.

I know we're conditioned as Spurs fans to worry about back up strikers, but I think Nuno and Paratici have actually got it right this year.

We have to start looking at the squad as if we're not in Europe at all. In all the time we've had Kane and Son we've always been in the Europa League at least.

This year is different. We won't be going all out for the UCL. Kane and Son will be rested, and I highly doubt they will travel. They will probably only play 1 game a week, whilst Scarlett Gil Lucas/Bergwijn etc will take the UCL minutes.

So if Kane is injured, Son is both fresh and fully match fit to play 9 - and one of our strongest areas is LWF rotation - who will also be match fit from the UCL.

We're far better off using all our resources and our non homegrown spots to strengthen other areas, whilst also fast tracking Scarlett who is a fantastic prospect.

He can hold the ball up, is physical and aggressive, and a great finisher. Adama were we to get him the same (minus the finishing obvs). We won't get the insane Kane playmaking, but what back up striker would have that quality?

I just don't know what sort of profile of back up no.9 would be of any real value to us given we're mostly at 1 BIG game a week.

Someone better than Son and willing to sit around in the hope Kane got injured, and not also block our best striker prospect in 10 years, or waste resources that would better strengthen the XI.

In the Confernce, I get it. But when we play league games Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday, I’m not sure Scarlett as a starter is the answer just yet, maybe after a few months of cup games he’ll be more advanced.

Yeah we'll have to do a bit of rotation around the festive period but the same is true of every club in the league.

We dont really have any issues with creating... we have an issue with finishing the chances off.

Also Id say if we have an issue with creativity, Kane can create but if he drops deep as a 10 then we need a 9.

Did you mean to put those two sentences in the same post?
