This situation should have never come to be - Mr Levy should have foreseen it after he did the same thing to Man City in order to join us and never offered him a full time contract or at least not a long term one

Similar to the AVB situation where Levy was trying to be clever and expecting different/better results than the respective previous clubs got

However - I think we should stop being so hung up on Ade now. He's only got a year left on his contract and he's been marginalised like BAE was. Fine he collects his wage and it annoys us all, but the club has done good work with outgoing transfers in recent windows which has resulted in a trimmed wage bill (so this offsets the wasted Ade money and then some)

We just have to sit it out and forget about him - soon he will be gone and now one will care about him anymore

If he had taken time off from training with the juniors to be with the Togo team and didn't turn up there, there would seem to be grounds for charging him with playing truant, and to terminate his contract or at least dock him a substantial fine.

This man should be banned from the training ground indefinitely. Adebayor has done nothing to indicate that he is ready to work hard & be a proper footballer, which is galling considering there would be thousands who would kill to be considered good enough for a Premier League team & would happily take a fifth of his weekly wage.

He is a big disappointment & as much as I would like to cancel his contract we should keep him on the books. If he were to walk away with a pay-off, he's then free to sign with someone else; that someone else would give him a new weekly wage, signing on fee etc. This must not be allowed to pass.

Let him rot. This man represents everything that is wrong with the game.

The sad thing is he had the chance with us to show that he wasn't a mercenary. I dont really care what he is paid as lets be honest money in football is not on the same scale as anything else, so what if his contract is worth 5m this year, it is what it is.

More significant is that coming to us from City was a chance to play regularly, be the player that the PL has seen in the past and for 1.5 seasons we've seen that. In between the player has been not worth the kit he turned up in. He also seems to burn bridges when given multiple chances.

Last season, Poch and the club gave him a time off to get his head right and then a way back in (Semi final game + couple of other apps) but he didnt suggest that he was able to do it. Now he is just wasting his and everyone else's time.

The funny thing about all this is that anyone thinks he actually gives a shit what they think.

I don't think anyone thinks that

It's abundantly clearly Adebayor doesn't give a fuck about anything but his wages

This is all so sad. Let's not forget Togo in all this as I imagine his absence makes a big difference to them. I can foresee a situation a year from now where he's unwanted and complaining no one will give him a chance. How much talent gets wasted at our club? If it's not Ade, it's Bentley or Lamela. We could win things if we could get the best out of everyone, it's so frustrating.

When all is said and done he obviously has some(!) problems and he is obviously no role model for our young players.

But if Kane gets injured what do we do? Surely you keep the guy onside in case it's in our best interests? He's playing for a contract next year for someone. That's a situation he excels in.

He's an enigma wrapped in a riddle.... Wrapped in an enigma.

There's no doubt that spurs can sometimes seem to ruin young player's careers, but Ade only has himself to blame here.

im sure if they offered to pay him he'd turn up

I don't know if he would unless it was an obscene amount, what motivates him these days? It's not the love of the game for sure, not even sure if a million pounds would

I don't think he cares, if he was playing for a contract he would have gone on loan and been begging for a chance. He needs to show case his talent so not turning up ? That really helps his cause

I can really see him on the dole in a few years with all his money squandered.
