Oh how Spurs fans love to hate.
They act like lots of little Jamie Redknapps.

Jamie Redknapp, you say? That would be a whole new level of ****ishness. Could even spawn a new collective noun - several ****s together = a Jamie Redknapp of ****s.

Yes, he puts the effort in. On and off the pitch. He has all the desire you'd want for a player. He's not scoring but he should be starting on merit.

I rated all our strikers when we bid for them all of them - Soldado has been the biggest disappointment as I was shocked to see how poor he was over here. I think I expected Auguro and got Franny Jeffers. Ade is a big guy, big guys always get in the neck for looking lazy and disinterested when they are not scoring, some City fans rag Dzeko something rotten.

But they both wear the Spurs shirt and I think do their best. Continuingly laying to your teams players one of the saddest problems with in current day football.

I know many will not agree but Spurs put the contract in front of him for him to sign. I wish he actually 'earned' his wages by running, sweating blood for our team and by just looking interested. Contract commitments are two way for sure- Ade plays for the money and basically takes the piss. But I'd like one week of his pay a year- it's more than I'll ever get (and I'm good at what I do, always put in maximum effort and never give up!)
I would rather him leave on a free than us offer him more money.

What really gets with the boy Jamie is he is so scared of Liverpool fans. Mind most of the senior players are up there.

Ade doesn't do his best.

Its no coincidence that he's been passed around the prem. Everyone warned us he only puts the effort in when either his contract is up of the transfer window is looming.

We didn't fucking listen and now we're stuck with him.

Mugs.

The chance to sell him was in the summer, his stock was high after a good season once he was returned to the fold.

It saddens me that his career has turned out like it has but he consistently makes bad choices that don't help his career. I'm not someone that likes giving Arsenal players credit but I thought he was nailed on to become a great player. Then he started talking about AC Milan, fell out with the fans and got his big move to City. He started pretty well there too but again ends up alienating himself from the club. Off to us he goes and looks like he's getting back on track to be the player he could be but then he turns up out of shape because he was training on his own at City, then he comes out of international retirement at short notice to go to the ACON mid season, doesn't tell the club he's going back to Togo after and ends up alienated at yet another club. Sherwood gave him a final lifeline and he stepped up, only to end up back in the same position once again with the fans upset with him and apparently having alienated a number of people at the club.

What frustrates me most is that Ade probably has good reason for all those decisions. He wanted to leave Arsenal because he didn't feel they were going anywhere(pretty much true), Mancini wasn't playing him, City didn't have a right to force him out permanently on a lower deal, the whole Togo squad were returning to their country after the tournament and the atmosphere at the Lane does suck. They're all fair enough on their own but not at any point does Adebayor put his club above his own interests and it's ultimately led to the detriment of his career. I don't think Adebayor is the mercenary some do, he shows a lot of passion when things are going well and I do think he is trying hard on the pitch for us but he makes a lot of bad decisions and I'm not sure he recognises it.

I think it is called being a plonker! But I like him and I can't explain totally why. I dont like players that kiss the badge which might have something to do with it. Oh and "pundits" dont like him and a bigger bunch of hypocrites I've yet to see.
Did you know Jamie Redknapp is one! a pundit that is!

I have no problem with his wages and lack of results for us as we signed him knowing his history and his personality. This one is down to the chairman & the transfer committee who gave the deal the go ahead. Best of luck to him, we were silly enough to buy him we have to suck it up & take the financial consequences.

Really? I think people are seeing what they want to see here. Did he actually do anything against Villa after Ade went off other than pick a fight with Benteke? (Full marks for pluck there!)

However, I thought it very wrong of Pochettino not to give him a run-out gainst Tripolis. Poor Bobby.
We are not playing to Soldados strengths and that is the main problem but having said that Ade has proven once again that you can't trust him, poor poor Ade. You have defended him all the way and you have been proven wrong again and again poor SpursSince57 :)

Ade's been poor, no doubt. What I will say though is that I disagree with the idea he's not been trying.

I think he's just been like all our other players, when the teams been playing half decent you'll see a motivated Ade but he's not one to lift the performances of other players when the team is doing badly (odd decision to make him VC)

The Southampton game sticks out in my mind. He didn't score in that game but his work rate was excellent, IIRC?

AVB thought he could handle Adebayor, and OKed what now appears to be 4 year contract.
2 years @ £170k p/w and 2 years @ £100k p/w.
Wow.
Then wanted him out after a year.

he only proved that when he had something to prove! that's the mans problem, when he feels he has proved his point to whatever ex manager he puts in 20% effort.

I can't say for certain but I'd be fairly sure that AVB would've have begged for another striker to go with soldado and for Ade to be sold but was probably told nope, use the striker you left out.

Lets not forget AVB showed great faith in Ade in his first season over Defoe and got an extremely bad return, as well as him pissing about during the ACN

bad idea signing him on a perm
You live or die by your signings, AVB was a deadman walking from the very moment he watched Soldado sign that contract.

Well, you can understand it. I mean, every club has its fair set or, er, more exuberant supporters - but hand-grenades on the wall crayzee? :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

The one that gets me (when he doesn't trigger my narcolepsy, that is) is Michael Owen - it's like he just whips the old chap out and goes into fap overdrive each and every time the words Manchester United occur. Surely if there was an ex player for Mickeys to have a problem with it is him :yuck:

Neither Ade or Soldado are any good. That might sound like i'm sitting on the fence, but it's abundently clear that they are both nothing more than average PL players from what we've seen of them in a Spurs shirt. Soldado can't hold the ball up and his finishing is terrible. His link up play is good but it's not even close to as good as some of our fans think it is and his movement is alright. All Ade can do well is score and he hasn't even done that this season. I don't know why people are still so desperate to see Soldado in the team when we have 3 good AM's (Lamela is quality, he just needs to be more consistent and Eriksen is on bad form, before people start on me for saying that!) and a very good young striker in Kane. The only thing he lacks is blistering pace and he's not exactly slow these days. Besides, he makes up for his lack of pace with very good movement and anticipation. There's no real argument to start any players in the premier league in the attacking positions other than Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela and Kane. The Ade vs Soldado argument is a complete waste of time IMO and some of you still really get your knickers in a twist about it when it's likely the club will be looking to get rid of both of them ASAP

God I wish I could just turn up at the office, do the bare minimum for the week, pick up my 100 grand on the Sunday, and then say to my boss that I've a contract you can't force me out when I get called up on it.

Fucking mugs game being a footballer innit?
