I'm happy enough if he goes to Roma to accelerate the Lamela deal. He seems to want to stay in Italy anyway.

Disappointed to see one of my favorite players acting up like this. Hope Fiorentina do well without him tonight.

I can't imagine him haggling for a move to Roma and thus prompting an action such as refusing to play today. Just makes no sense. Makes me wonder if Milan came in with a bid that Fiorentina were not happy with.

This is the kind of exciting player that Spurs should be after. With Townsend showing what he can do on the right Ljajic would be an ideal foil on the left. Bread and Butter. Sweet and sour. Soldado would complete the picture.

Of course Lamela would be a great addition but I believe Ljajic should be the priority.

Absolutely could not agree more. With Lamela coming in, the possibility of having either him or Townsend on the bench in comparison to what we have on the left is a damn waste.

Are we writing off Chadli already?

Of course people are. It's been over a month now and this is obviously as good as he's going to get! (Note: This is sarcasm)

I do believe he has the most chances created, his work rate has been fantastic (see: that tackle on Ben Davies right inside the box as he ghosted past Rose) and once he gets acclimated he's going to be more than just fine for us.

Many are, believe it or not  .. I read earlier (on another forum, via @eplstatman) that he has, so far, created more chances than any other player in the PL. He has apparently created 9 chances, whilst Hazard is second after creating 8 chances in 3 games.

So far what I've seen of Chadli I like, he will not have his confidence fully up yet as he's still adjusting to the league, but those are good stats snarf and coops, when Chadli gets to the line he has so far been able to put some quality delivery into the box and generally picked out a Tottenham player. Corners have been poor though but that's a given when playing for us.

Chadli is a great signing. I'm more than happy for him to be a starter this season if we get a creative type in to play the other side and Eriksen to rotate with Holtby in the centre. In fact, that's just what he is right now. A first choice wide man for us. He's a big bastard, quick and will be able to deliver decent service out wide. He also works hard defensively when needed and this is vital for us as the FBs will be a big part of our attack and we can't have everyone on the fringes going AWOL all 90 minutes. The 3 amigos in the middle can only do so much.

So those writing him off will be in for a lot of disappointment this season, imo.

Time to start judging players on what they bring to the team and system folks. We're taking off the training wheels off here where step-overs and a nice sideline in tricks isn't going to cut it. The days of XI individuals each expressing themselves like a method actor on shrooms are over.

Some of the criticism is ridiculous. He's a far more talented footballer than Dempsey. He's got a great cross on him, he's two footed, tricky, not a slouch and good in possession. He'll be a solid buy for us.
