I thought so. That was a brilliant day. RMC released a story saying we were interested. Then they released one saying we made a bid and soon after, Montpellier announced that a deal had been agreed. All this happened in about an hour and I started the thread about 20 minutes before the deal was actually announced

First off, it's 250,000 Euros, which is £196000 per month. If we pay 70%, that's £137,200, which means we would pay £34300 a week, which isn't that much nowadays.

TBF we could look elsewhere pretty easily for cover on loan for Bentaleb, theres more to this. I think we want him pretty badly and are willing to do anything just to get him out of PSG, then we have 6 months to convince him to join us. I could be totally wrong but my spidey senses are twitching with this one, I think he looks a real talent. People may disagree on the basis of a youtube vid, but you have to take into account this kid has hardly played, thus doesnt have much content to put on youtube.

I've no doubt we're looking for an improvement in squad options a window of opportunity for top four while also reducing risk given the fact that we may struggle to move on some of these midfielders. As of now, the only one we've seen strongly linked away is Paulinho, and that itself is also only a loan. This also frees up funds for us to address other positions, ones Poch may have prioritized higher.

I can't see any chance of us bringing in another CM as well as Rabiot, which means in January we'd be left with Mason-who's not playing great and currently injured, Dembele - who has history of picking up injuries, Stambouli - still settling in & barely started a PL game and Rabiot - barely played this season who'll take weeks/months to even settle in. That looks worryingly threadbare until Bentaleb back.
