One thing that I think is really great about our squad is how young they still are... I think it's quite possible to see the core of our team now and who will hopefully eventually break it. If you look at

Gomes (30) - goalkeepers can play for a while though if you look at van der saar/ friedel)
Walker (20)
Corluka (25) doesn't rely on pace
Kaboul (25 - utterly convinced he will be our rock solid centre half for years to come)
Bassong (24)
Caulker (19 - hopefully he will eventually make our first team)
Bale (21)

Sandro (22)
Hudd (24 - look at pirlo and giggs! Could be going for 10-12 years, and could improve all the while)
Lennon - (24 - probably got less than some left though because he relies on pace)
Modric (25)

And the older:
VDV (27 but doesn't rely on pace, could go another 5 or so then a further couple as a squad player)
BAE - 27 (at his peak)
Gallas (33)
Dawson (28 but is a centre back that has never relied on pace so probably has 6-7 years left in the game)

So the average age of the squad (that I consider a genuine part of our future) is about 25 - since players hit their peak at about 28, it could be an exciting few years!

Note: I'm not mentioning strikers as I hope none of them will be here in a couple of years! Haven't included young players (inc Naughton, though that could be harsh since he's done so well at Leicester) because it's so hard to see where they'd come through at the moment.

I fully agree with what you say. There are exciting times to be had as a Spurs fan in the next few years! The only way is up for us, I'm certain of that.

We could achieve great things. Especially if we get the striker issue resolved ASAP!

THIS

Providing we can keep hold of our major performers and get some reinforcements in the right areas (Crouch/Pav/Jd, I'm looking at you), I think we are in for some good times.

Dawson and Gallas are good but they are certainly realistic upgrades to be bought
