I'm pretty sure Lukaku said he's staying at Inter before he was forced to leave.

At the end of the day it's not about the player honouring his contract it's about Inter needing money. In the meeting they might have just told the agent that they will consider any proposals but in the meantime they're happy with Bastoni.

Either way I'm perfectly happy with signing Torres if this doesn't look like happening.

I hate to speculate but it may be that there was an offer by Chelsea to take him there in some sort of package for Lukaku and Bastoni said no, I’ll stay if I can’t go to Spurs and just run down my contract.

If he'd say my client has a contract and he's happy to stay then fair enough, but he quite literally said he's definitely staying at Inter. Following a meeting with the board who would have told him that there was a chance they'd need to sell to raise money if that was the case.
