I can understand passing on him as we don’t have space currently but if we end up getting Kessié I will be very very disappointed.
Yeah have to agree. Kessie doesn’t fit the Ange mould of technical and mobile CM’s, whereas Scott really does. This Kessie link really doesn’t make a lot of sense and does smell a bit of another “club” link

I’d like him, but we’ve got Maddison, Skipp, Sarr, Bissouma, Lo Celso who now seems happy with Bentancur also to come back.

Not including PEH at present as looks like we may be selling.

So we are quite well covered in that area and we all know where are funds need to be prioritised lol...

And we also have Alfie coming through too. Although I do expect him to be loaned out this season.

Yeah I listened to a very interesting podcast documentary about Brentford's rise to success over the past 4-5 years and their DoF guy is absolutely obsessed with 'pathways'. When they make signings they make absolutely sure each player has a clear pathway to first team minutes and a natural position in the team. It's all planned out strategically and in some cases years in advance

We've been SO shit at this in the past few years with so many signings blocked from first team football by poor squad planning or managers who aren't fully behind the signings in the first place.

I think signing Scott could've easily been another case of this unless Ange was fully convinced he was instantly ready to make the jump to the first 11.
This is pretty much the MO of Brighton and whilst I haven't heard this particular podcast who i'm assuming they are referencing Lee Dykes here, the High Performance one with Paul Barber perfectly illustrates a CEO who's on top of his remit and a club working in sync from top to bottom with a strategy that's looking at both the short and long term.

As for Scott however, I think this move to Bournemouth is excellent for him who look like they will be a much more progressive team under Iraola and will provide him with valuable game time to develop his talents and by extension putting himself firmly in the shop window for the bigger clubs to properly ascertain whether he has what it takes to thrive in the Premier League.

I get the feeling he is holding out for us. I hope we can make it happen later in the window when we have seen a few out of the door. Would happily sell Hjobjerg for him.

There are so many better pathway opportunities in the PL than us for him right now that he could walk into and be just as lucrative and honestly better for his career at this stage.

This one is a fan favourite link given he’s a Spurs fan and is genuinely talented, but the timing and our squad situation really doesn’t make much sense for either party unless there is a massive change in our midfield which seems very unlikely.

Brighton would be a great move for him . He would love the style of football and seems one of the best places in the premier league for a young player to improve his game .

No it wouldn’t. They would want 100M for him after his success. We need a better feeder club

Or we could gamble and pay 25-30m for him it’s the risk you take . Brighton scouts are obviously some of the best in the game . They uncover gems all of the world and turn them into huge money players .

the football they play there is great to watch and Scott would be a lot better off going there instead of Wolves , who look pretty fucked and the season ain’t begun

Don’t buy the “he wouldn’t get minutes under us” narrative. Maybe under Conte, who wouldn’t gamble on youth, but we have a new manager now who is eager to play high-tempo players.

He’d offer more than Skipp in the 8 role currently. An injury to Maddison and suddenly he could be a starter. Suspect if we sell Hojbjerg we’ll look to bring in Gallagher or Scott.

Besides in Ange’s system we are going to use all 5 subs..

I am happy about this.

Does well at Bournemouth and he is much attainable for us. Always likely to drop out of PL in coming years.

If he went to West Ham, he would be priced at 100m and we would likely find it tough to business.

Good move for him personally too, with a coach who will nurture his talents rather than waste them

Has a fair chance of cementing his place in the team too.
