wouldn't it have made sense for there to be an agreement in place that if 2 teams from the same country are in the final that the final will then be switched to a location within that country? I know it's a big prestigious event for Moscow but shouldn't the fans be taken into consideration?

I heard today it is something like £800 just to fly to Moscow for the final.

Now that is serious one dirty trick on the fans.
Plus Visas required.

& The Russian plod do not take any shit from anyone.

Wembley would be a little bit nearer home.

It's a nice idea, I think it would make more sense to stick it in the fucking middle of Europe, as it seems like too much bother to change the destination of a final half way through a season. I mean, I know Moscow's in Europe, but seriously, it's stupid to have it that far East.

Saying that though, it would be good of us to remember that we are the furthest away from Moscow, bar Spain and Portugal, so the Russians would probably be saying the same if the final was at Wembley and they qualified.

Somewhere in this region would be sensible, and fair

Although realistically, only England, Italy, Spain, and possibly France, Germany, Holland and Portugal, are going to have clubs reach the final, UEFA can't admit that, so need to be fair.

According to this link, that last team outside of those countries to reach the final was Steua Bucuresti, 20 years ago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Champions_League

Thanks for the map Kyras. Only probably 4 countries will ever have a chance of getting 2 teams in the Final - England, Spain, Italy.....possibly Germany...okay make that 3.

UEFA should have a clause - in the event of this happening, standby venues in those countries should be able to take the Final at short notice. (as suggested by 5Live this evening, I take no credit).

Edit: So basically yes, I entirely agree with this thread!

Yes it would, and indeed logical, but why on earth would you expect a governing body to have things like "sense" Eek
