Let's face it we're a fair step down from Madrid, we've only been in the cl once and never challenge for the league, if he moved it'd be to a club that does both them things regularly

I understand that, and I don't think I was trying to say that we aren't a step down (it's obvious we are when we lose our two best players to them for that same reason). I'm just stating that the comments are being spun to look like he's "talking shit" about us when in fact he's just saying it's hurtful when he believes he gives his all to a club yet he still hears rumors about him going elsewhere.

Don't disagree mate just pointing out that his comments make perfect sense

Anchelotti said that the club and Morata has agreed that it's best that he looks for a new club. One can always hope that we are going for him.

A few days back Perez said this-

Interviewed by Cadena Ser, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has declared about 21-year old forward Alvaro Morata: "I am in good terms with Juventus, but there have been non talks with them. There are no possibilities for Morata to move to Turin. Of course, with Morata we will have to sit around a table and talk, but we haven't done it yet"

I find it strange that Juve allowed Ciro Immobile to join Dortmund, much better than Morata currently imo.

Juve got decent money for Immobile and they already have half a million strikers.

For those of you who have seen more of him than I have, do you think he'd come in and be a starter who would improve us or a decent squad option who could/should evolve into an elite level player?

I really don't get the hype over this kid, every time I have watched him he has looked very average...if RM are happy to sell him, despite him being a home grown player then it doesn't say that much for him...

If the biggest club in the world and winners of the UEFA Champions League are willing to sell a 21 year old along with a buy-back clause, that confirms he's an average player? It seems he wants more playing time, a proposition which Madrid are unable to guarantee considering they have Benzema and are on the hunt for another big name acquisition.

Well I have watched him quite a few times for them and he has always looked very average and offered pretty much nothing...just because he plays for Real Madrid that doesn't make him good.

for me he's generally made an impact whenever he's gotten a few minutes at the end of a game so i struggle to see how he's offered pretty much nothing.

21 minutes against levante - scored
28 minutes against almeria - scored
14 minutes against betis - scored
17 minutes against vallecano - scored
4 minutes against sociedad - scored
20 minutes against almeria - scored
22 minutes against espanyol - scored twice

as for madrid selling him and that meaning he can't be that good, well tell that to robben, sneijder and van der vaart ... or maybe they just have something against the dutch.

You're right, it doesn't, and I'm certainly interested in your opinion of why you deem him average, but conversely a club of that magnitude letting a player go at that age with a buy-back clause in hand also does not confirm him average. In fact, I'd say quite the opposite.

I think he has the quality, desire and temperament to come in as a starter, of course that might seem a big ask for a player mainly coming off the subs bench and having no PL experience but even doing that he's hit I believe 8 goals in La Liga this season and has so much quality in his game
He is probably one of the most complete looking strikers I have seen at his age and I think with regular games he'll blossom into a world class striker in a couple of seasons
He really is the striker I want us to get above any other realistic option this summer

Would be lovely to have him, but I don't think it's reasonable to say he'd pick us over some of the more "appealing" teams out there.

I do believe there's plenty of talented strikers out there around his age that we could get, though. And, for what is likely a much more reasonable fee.

Álvaro Morata’s patience is wearing thin. Carlo Ancelotti has stated that they player isn’t in his plans for the new season and both the coach and the club are keen for Morata to gain more playing time. The player meanwhile, is keen to seal his move elsewhere as quickly as possible to be able to complete the full pre-season with whichever club he decides to join. Real Madrid are in no hurry and furthermore, insist that Morata will not be transferred until they have brought in a replacement.

It’s a complicated situation for the youth team graduate who racked up just 575 minutes on-field in the league last term and netted eight goals. Morata is under contract with Real Madrid until 2015 and club officials are prepared to wait. Club directors have yet to meet with Morata’s agent who has received an offer from Juventus with the player taking home 11 million euros over five seasons.

As Madrid see it, they have three options open to them. The first, is to let Morata go without a repurchase option. The asking price would be around 30 million euros – too high a fee for Manchester United, Juventus and Arsenal, who are believed to be interested in the striker. It’s a subtle way of ensuring that Morata doesn’t go to Madrid’s direct rivals in European competition. The second option would be to let Morata leave for 18-25 million euros but retain an option to buy the player back. It would open up a range of possible destinations for the player, including Inter Milan, Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur. This is the ideal scenario as far as Madrid are concerned as they would maintain some control over Morata’s evolution. The third option would be to offer a contract extension then farm Morata out on loan for a season with Villarreal. The player is against this idea however, unless Madrid agree to equal the offer which Juve have tabled (a 2.2 million euro annual salary).

He isn't worth anywhere near the fees quoted, and why would we buy with a buyback clause, far better players can be bought for that money.

I disagree, I think people will look back and consider 25 mill euros a snip in a couple of years time. I think Morata will become a real world class striker, granted I don't think buying with a buy back clause is a great deal though
