Look, for those of you who think we could have sold earlier or done things earlier, don't forget that it takes two to tango, and the other side could have been hardballing us, offering way too low, or trying to see what they can do on deadline day, or what replacements they have lined up. There are a million and one permutations to consider.

At least your judgement on whether Modric would be sold or not during the last window was better than the guesses/predictions/hopes of some of the posters in that article.

Anyway, I was as adamant (albeit with fingers and toes crossed) as you in that Levy would be sticking to his guns about keeping Modric during the last TW.

I know, Goode Pard'ner...it was a good article, but some folk are going overboard on it. It does have flaws, I just wanted to point one of them out - he says that any ITK who said Modric wouldn't be sold must have connections, as I did exactly the same based purely on my analysis of Levy's personality with no claim whatsoever to be ITK, as I most definitely am not.

This is a factor.

One of the reasons (and I presume that there were several), why we went in late for some of our incoming players, was that we needed to offload a number of our fringe players from a bulging squad. Now that we've managed to offload more than we've taken in, I think we will try to get in players earlier in the next window than was the situation in the last couple of TWs.
With the latest news about Adebayor hamstring problem, I hope it will prompt the board/management to get a top notch striker in January to cover or to pair off with Adebayor until, at the very least, the end of the season.

I guess there's no one who can really be considered as 'ITK' unless that person is directly linked to any transfer deal. This would also mean that even a player may not know whether a deal has been completed, even after having medical, until each concerned party has agreed upon the terms and signed on the dotted line.

Most of the ITKs in the article are getting their info 3rd-hand or beyond and there could have been changes in circumstances since then, which they may not have been privy to, before posting their info.
However, I think many of the posters, like Ryan for instance, are posting in good faith, whenever they have bits of info to share with us.

Irrespective of the different postings, I've found it enjoyable reading all the posts during each and every TW, as long as I remember to have a dash of salt before delving into it. :)

would've even be better if we had bought Gabby Agblonhor from Villa when he was out of favour last seaoson.

But apparently alot of people prefers Defoe!!

They're a relatively similar level so unless Villa were prepared to sell cheap I wouldn't see the point in buying GA.

Agblonhor (sic) is shit. The Villa fans have openly booed him, and all he seems to have is pace. Defoe is a better striker and I'm not a massive Defoe fan.

Gabby would be better than Defoe here. He is quicker and a better dribbler. Also is a little more comfortable out wide. Defoe is a more natural finisher, but Gabby is a better header of the ball as well. I don't know. I don't hate Defoe, but I think Gabby is better.
