After that disgraceful example of mysogyny by which I am utterly appalled surely they're duty bound to get a bird in.
With big knockers I hope.

Best news ever. Now he finally is free to get goona4life tattooed on his forehead without worrying about what work will say.

Hate him.

Ridiculous to sack him over that.

I definitely come from the PC end of the spectrum, but his views were revealed in the first incident. It's those, rather than the comments that he was told were unacceptable. It's not that he should still think the same, just not say the at work that was the issue.

Therefore it's ridiculous to then sack him for holding the same views previously. We know he held those views. He can't change what he thought previously in the light of the present.

He could change what he thinks in the future. And that's what the warning highlighted for him. He had an opportunity to consider whether what he said, even in banter, was really what he thought and whether it was appropriate.

to all of you showing andy gray sympathy would you feel the same if he made a racist comment? Or would that still be okay 'off air'? Seriously what this prick has said is inexcusable in my opinion.

I dislike Andy Gray, mostly because of his anti Spurs ramblings.

I still think this is a daft sacking. Storm in a teacup brewed by the PC Brigade. People should know the difference between throwaway comments/tongue in cheek, with obvious sexism/racism/discrimination etc

It's nothing worse then you hear at work, down the pub, or just laddish banter

Hang on, most employers would act if this kind of language was brought to their attention.

Agreed. If it were racist or showing relgious hatred everyone on here would come down on him like a tonne of bricks. But do you know why they don't? Because half the guys here are embarassed about the fact that they say the some sort of shit. Therefore they will attempt to downplay the element of offense out of guilt.

You can tell he's got a huge high self opinion of himself, he was fortunate to be there at the beginning of the Premier League, along with Keys.
Year after year we've had to put up with his droning on, bias and generally nauseating fawning over the top 4. Even though he's an ex player, as a commentator he's very unpleasant and seems as if he doesn't understand the game. He was so bad I got rid of my sky subscription in the late 90's. I lost count the amount of times I felt like throwing my pint at the t.v due to his nonsense.
So if he's shot himself in the proverbial so be it,if you get caught being sexist at work then you're out the door, couldn't happen to a nicer fellow. He's made a nice fat packet doing next to nothing, so no one should really have any sympathy for him.

In terms of the Massey I thought she had a really good game (how many times has that been said of a ref assistant?), so was completely out of order. This is the 21st Century, not the freeking dark ages.

It was banter though, if he had called someone a nigger or slagged off muslims then that is hatred this was just jokey banter, Top Gear football style.

They should definitely reunited the Football Italia dream team of Richardson and Brackley.

Or get in a proper analyst like Jonathan Wilson or Sid Lowe.

Political correctness gone mad, a victory for humourless bra burning feminists but a sad day for free speech

Jeremy Clarkson says stuff about women drivers every week and is still in a job

Women have no place in the football frontline its a man's game

Football is a macho alpha male culture doesn't compare with women's sports, having women commentating and refereeing on football feels creepy and wrong, sure women working in football in admin, PR, catering etc is fine but not frontline roles, next it will be women managers and even mixed sex teams in the Premiership, it is just wrong

are you trolling or are you an idiot?

and i'd really be celebrating if that **** clarkson was sacked and couldn't get another job in the media. champagne time. WAC (clarkson, not you)

Glad he's gone because I can't stand the bloke, but don't agree he should have been sack for his comments, for his commentary definitely.

The comments Keys and Gray made "off air" but in a work environment and micc'ed up were remarks anyone can hear at the side of a sunday pitch through to the terraces where there is a female official overseeing a male sport. It is sadly still a fact of life.

However, crucially, where the likes of Keys and Gray and before them, Atkinson and others have fatally miscalculated, is in still being hooked up to a live microphone. They were still in a work environment and even more damning, playing with odds that the feed was still live to the nation.

They have no defence - it is sexism in the workplace. Anyone employed, go in to work tomorrow and phone your HR Department to ask them about this particular offence.

You must have been watching a different Andy Gray.

Are you joking? What has he said that can be construed as "anti-Spurs"

He's been bigging us up for ages for going all out to win games, not playing defensive midfielders, always going on about how great Harry is and Bale/VDV/Modric.

Rubbish. Even during the Man U match he couldn't bring himself to suggest we could win the game or criticise Rapheal.
