Can't disagree with anything there at all but Poch does have some control over how much football the likes of Kane, Dier, Alli etc play. Now that we have decent cover for Harry & Eric in particular, I would like to see them rested much more this season when they are looking tired and/or out of form.

Poch is paid handsomely for managing a top club with top players, the Euros and the World cup haven't just popped up from nowhere, they were here before he entered mangement and will be here after.

Because he may employ training/playing methods that are not wholly compatible to the schedule at hand why is he making it everybody elses problem?

Look at yourself Poch and alter or tailor your management to the situation you are paid very well to manage because it ain't changing anytime soon.

He may be using our players as examples (because obviously he knows them and their schedules far better), but he's talking about players in general. Hence the bit about people making decisions who've never touched a ball.

We should have added more to the squad this summer.

Poch won't be resting players for Champs League so our replacements should be able to step in without us dropping quality.

Fingers crossed we'll make some deals soon!

I partially agree with you, but when the FA insist on pushing Kane into the U20 tournament the year before when they knew very well that Hodgson was going to be bringing him into the England squad that where there's reason for complaint.

Also; how many players do we get back crocked from England duty? You could even argue it's cost Pritchard his Spurs career.

Poch isn't the only manager who has issues with the International schedule.

You can add as many players as you want, but how many aren't going to be internationals?

You know what hope does.
Winning the World Cup in 66
set us back years through arrogant complacency.
Nothing changed and largely still hasn't.
See appointment of Roy Hodgson.
If it hadn't been for Italia 90 I doubt that interest in the domestic game in England would ever have recovered from the combined effects of hooliganism, stadium tragedies and POMO.

Spurs like all other teams have a twenty five man squad, Poch needs to (like any other manager) deal with it. Maybe one idea would be to increase the squad size to thirty, but it ain't gonna change much with the amount of money in the game.

He has a point but every manager is faced with the same situation, Arsenal, Chrlsea, Utd, City, Liverpool had plenty of key players at the Euros

I like Poch but hope he is not getting his excuses in early for if we have a bad start

International football still the pinnacle of the game for me, nothing raises the hopes of a nation more than the national team doing well
International football certainly still has its place, but it is no longer the pinnacle in terms of either standard or prestige.

Why would anyone need 30 over 21 players? Adding an extra 5 fringe players to squads won't change anything. How would any manager keep 30 first team players + youngsters happy?

25 + youngsters is more than enough. The problem for us isn't numbers, our squad is plenty big enough, it's the quality of the depth.

Let's not blind ourselves to what it would mean if England actually managed to do something tangible on the international stage. Spurs or England winning their highest respective trophies? That's a tough one but you can't tell me the nation wouldn't be an incredible place if England won the world cup! We should amend schedules based on international tournaments, it's adaptive and something that needs doing to save players and injury.

With the amount of money in the game I find it a bit rich we can't get a squad of players.

He's not talking about our squad specifically but football as a whole, it's ridiculous that some International players had less than 6 weeks from the end of theirs Euros to the start of the next season. Players are still human they need rest and the current scheduling gives them the incredibly short periods of rest unless clubs start resting them for the start of the following season which would make the the fans turn on the manager.
