Did Levy really pull the plug as such? From how I've read between the various reports, we wouldn't do a loan without an option so Barcelona has preferred to go with Brighton's "dry" loan proposal instead which suits their long term interests much better.I don't so much have a problem not getting him if we didn't think the deal was right, it's more so the fucking about when we're fairly desperate for major ins/outs.
For context:
- We've been pursuing Fati for ages (backed up by ITK), since at least April (and yes, we didn't have a manager then...)
- At some stage yesterday the deal was "agreed" and flights/medicals were being arranged
- Levy then jumped in and pulled the plug as he wasn't happy with the terms of the deal
- If it got that far, you'd assume Ange was happy with it and you'd also presume that we cooled our interest on other targets
- We've had since at least April to ask whether they'd include an option or not, that wasn't a surprise
- It all stinks of Levy playing games and looking for a deal
- There's two days left and once again, Levy will be caught *snigger* short
If we get Johnson and a CB and this was just a "punt" that didn't work then fair enough. If this was our main attempt to give Ange the attacking players he needs for this season then we've fucked up yet again.
I'm no Levy supporter, but I'm not sure this deal is something to beat him up about. Not like there isn't a whole warehouse of ammo to bash him with already
