I'm starting to get the feeling, that this could be the deal of the century for us. If he can stay fit. I've convinced myself, very enthusiastic!

Edit: not if it's a loan without an option though.

Because apart from a few on here, we’re yet to hear about a deal beyond this season. So what happens later in his career means nothing.
Then take a look at the most recent evidence then of him being available pretty much every week?

Brighton, another suitor for Ansu Fati

FC BARCELONA

The English club is willing to make a significant effort to take the Barça striker as the flagship of their project

Ansu Fati (20 years old) continues to meditate on his future in Seville , with his family and his personal physical trainer. The Barça striker, who wants to have more prominence, is especially sought after and in recent hours a new suitor has emerged for him. This is Brighton & Hove Albion FC , which is willing to make a significant effort to turn the culé youth squad into its flagship.
The English team, which started the Premier League strongly , has already contacted the footballer's entourage and has pulled the necessary strings to begin to seduce Ansu Fati , who keeps on the table the proposals already advanced by Chelsea's MD , Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund. Roberto de Zerbi , Brighton coach , is in love with Ansu Fati and when he saw that the Spanish striker was on the market he did not hesitate to ask for him to join. At the very least, try. Ansu , for his part, is considering the English offer and puts it at the same level as those mentioned above.

And De Zerbi 's football proposal is attractive. He has already fallen in love with his football in a revolutionary Sassuolo , which consolidated the Brescia coach at the continental level. Furthermore, the English team has been characterized in recent years as a serious club, with a growing project that has made the team from the south of England increasingly established in the Premier League.

On the other hand, Brighton does not hesitate to bet on young talent and its players have taken a great leap wearing the blue and white of 'the seagulls'. Without going any further, this summer they sold world champion Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool (42 million euros) and achieved the most expensive transfer in the history of the Premier League, selling the Ecuadorian Moisés Caicedo to Chelsea (132 million

No they don't, and tbh I don't blame them. If I wasn't lucky enough to get some info, I would probably be exactly the same because of what's happened in previous windows. Even now when I'm being told we want both, I still doubt it because it just seems like there is so much to do with so little time left. Johnson is advanced and so is Fati, that is a fact. Whether or not we can get the deals over the line remains to be seen, but as it stands, I'm confident we get both.
As much as that would be great, the lack of a CB is what scares me. Seeing Sanchez having a usual off day and concerning VDV limping quite heavily at the final whistle, CB reinforcements are needed

He may not be the explosive winger he once was but he’s still technically very sound and plays very well in close combinations around the box. Two things I think Sonny lacks and I think we’ll do well to play him centrally now where he can play to his strengths of finishing and making runs in behind, with Ansu on the left combining with Udogie and Maddison. Those 3 as a combo on paper is really nice, all 3 are excellent playing those nice little combo’s around the box. We’ve already seen this a lot from Destiny and Madders, I think Fati could really click in excellently with the two of them on that left hand side

Let me take a wild stab at how this movie ends….

We fuck about, Fati and Johnson both go somewhere else and we end up with Pablo Fornals or the ilk

Yes that’s where I’m at. I live a bit behind so lots happens while I’m asleep. After a few windows in a row of going to be hopeful and then waking up to disaster I’m not doing that again!
