Bayern Juve and Real all loan big players from each other all the time.

Arsenal loaned Odegaard when their stock was low.

We failed to qualify for the conference league.

Why do we feel this type of loan was beneath us?

I’ve had to bin off a song I had in the works “Fati, he’s only got one knee, Fati, better than Tierry Henry”

*only correct IF we now still sign a CB, ST and alternative WF*

If this collapsing means we only sign Johnson or no further attacking players at all then that’s completely unacceptable and given we’ve seen this movie 🎥 100x the majority of us are past hoping and now just are expecting the impending frustration and disappointment when we end up scrambling last minute for some Danjuma level quality not needed signing and / or the good old ‘we tried’ and nothing more at all.
Don't get me wrong if we sign no one I will also be enraged at Levy, which I'm expecting tbh. Don't necessarily agree about signing a striker though cos I feel like Ange genuinely would prefer a WF.

Because I was told it was done and he was travelling tomorrow. That's why I'm astounded. Then last minute Levy has done a Levy and Brighton have swooped in. That's enough for tonight anyway, think I'll keep quiet until after the window now as even when we're told something is done, something like this can happen. The bits I've been getting were pretty solid at the start of the window but it's all over the place at the minute so I'll just sit back and moan when we're left short once again with a bloated squad.
That's fair. If someone as close as you are to everything is surprised I guess that's saying something. Levy must have really out-Levyed himself.

Brighton need a loan with all the games they have. We don’t especially as it was a straight loan no option.

Wasn’t worth it for no opportunity to permanently sign him and questions over his injury history.

I'm not upset he’s not coming.

Don’t worry guys we pulled out because we are saving our pennies for the £86mil bid which we will be tabling for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo 😉 it all makes sense now.

Don't all those teams suffer from significant financial problems from time to time?

And its another damp squib window thanks to Levy while our rivals have strengthened. He leaves everything to the last minute and we get fucked in the arse again. Nothing will ever change while he is in charge. He's simply not got what it takes to take this club to the next level. We should all know better than to get our hopes up.

This is the point I've been trying to make in other threads.

I do not like Daniel Levy. I do not like ENIC. I want them both to fuck off.

However, so many people on this site apply no logic to criticisms of Levy and constantly rewrite history, which make said criticisms seem nonsensical and undermines the whole ENIC Out stuff.

We know Fati isn't Ange's first choice. Very few people on here actually wanted him. Even fewer on a straight loan.

Yet look at the number of people shaking their fists at Levy? It literally makes no sense?

100% agree that we should be doing better this window to replace Kane, as I've said a number of times. Also baffled at the lack of a 2nd CB signing.

But if people put in loads of work into this transfer and Levy said no at the end because there was no buy option, then good. One of his better transfer decisions.
Its not just about Fati though is it, weve had the Kane money and done fuck all with it, we all know what the team needs except for one person.

What a deal for Barca really. Basically sending Fati on a rehab/training course at what is looking like one of the best development clubs in the world right now.

Every chance Fati comes back a £100m+ player and they'd have been paid £10-15m for it!

Seriously the happiest man at Tottenham Hotspur when the window closes will be that baldy wee rat of a chairman when he doesn't spend any of the Kane money or the 50million that they were supposed to make available.
He won't spend another Penny and we will be left short as usual. Then Donna and him will feed the journalists with the normal shit of we could not get of the surplus players so were unable to make anymore signings while the person left holding the can will be big Ange and will probably be sacked before Christmas.

Equally, Brighton could have been there all along and we had our deal and then we tried to tinker and Barca thought “na fuck this, you had your chance, we’re going with the easier Brighton option”.

I’m not upset that we didn’t accept a straight loan. I’m upset because we wasted all this time and bandwidth on something that was foundationaly never going to work. And that time is now so valuable because we’ve left business until Aug 30th again. Every second Levy was distracted with Fati today was time not spent on sales or other targets.

and just to plays devils advocate but if Fati improved us and helped us finished 4/5 that probably have been worth a straight loan. Now he’s helping a direct competitor do the same.

Actually think last night showed us that we probably need a cm alternative to biss, am alternate to madders and lb alternate to udogie more than anything else.

We should be fine in CM when bents returns. That's 3 World Class mids to rotate with the others (unless we sell others). Left back is an issue to be sure.

How? The only thing surprising about this to me is that people are surprised by it. This is very on-brand for a Levy transfer window.
I would normally agree but I'm blaming @riggi for this one.
The only reason I'm upset by this is because it was reported Ange talked to him and saw him as an important piece.

I'll likely never hear the absolute truth or know what Ange thinks.

I don't really get too stuck in on the Levy out train and try to just enjoy any positives.

For me all that matters is that Ange gets some players that he wants for his system. If he wanted Fati AND Johnson I do not see it as too much to ask, even if the Fati deal wasn't favorable for us as a club.

So I become pissed when I picture Ange being asked by the board if he'd like Fati, he says yes, calls him, they hit it off, only for the deal to collapse in the last moments. It is a bummer.

Again, I'll never know Ange's actual thoughts in this moment lol
We can only hope that wasn't the case because it would certainly be really really crap of Levy to be undermining him so early.
