I can’t put into words how much I hope it wasn’t true because that would be unforgivable by Levy.
Yeah. I think that the scenario sending everyone into meltdown is
- we had a dry loan in the bag (even if unfavourable to the club)
- ange was happy with it
- all done as long as...
- don't fuck about last min to "win" the negotiation (and fuck it all up)

And in part, everyone is having a melt because a) probably true b) it's hardly the first time c) really? Do that to ange now?

(or, it's SC and it's what we do best 🤔)

Sigh. No wonder most spurs fans have become bipolar over the last 20 years. We are as a club einsteins very definition of insanity.

...We could have spent the time looking for a long term replacement...
Yes! This is my point. Fati would have been a short term gap filler. It wouldn't have solved any of our structural problems. Brighton don't have structural problems. A straight loan works for them in a way it might not have for us. We can't progress properly until our squad is fit for purpose.

Would genuinely love to know what DL did. Would also like to see what deal Brighton have. I may have it wrong but if Barca didn’t want to lose him then a club offering him game time for no risk of losing him is a better bet from a “seller” perspective.

Anti-DL or not, surely you can all see that?
5) Brighton made a better (for Barca) offer. So they (Barca) pivoted. Fati would on balance rather play in some kind of Europe this year to showcase talents and potentially get a bigger move next year so is fine with it. Mendes loves the outcome, as I assume he'll get paid for this loan, then again next summer.
Yes of course but the naivety at okay here from spurs is fucking cyclical! Waste days over deals that are clearly not what you want them to be, hoping for a win, only to lose out in the end to a slick operator who can close a deal with intent. Every single deal we do is like pulling teeth, and with 2 days left we have no hope of addressing the areas we need to. IN THE SAME WINDOW WE SOLD KANE!!! Since we sold him we’ll have signed, maybe, Brennan Johnson!?! I’m all for the signing but come the fuck on if you think that’s acceptable. Imagine if Liverpool sold Salah 3 weeks ago and had only signed Johnson…would you be more scared playing against them now? This club man. The fucking pits.

How utterly embarrassing. Pretty clear we sold our captain and best player with absolutely no clue how to replace him, and are now running around the market trying a failing to pick up a few bargains.

Sooner Levy has fucked off the better. Sick of seeing rivals showing proper ambition whilst we take one step forward and two steps back every summer.

Yes but we aren't going to solve those in the next 48 hours. We are weakening ourselves for the season because we think we are too good to loan a player, we aren't. Take the loan, work on recruitment in the season. Though who am I kidding, Levy will never take us the level the stadium and the fans base deserve, he's a small time owner who ended up with a club well beyond his skill set.

Can’t believe it needs pointing out to an actual Spurs fan. But we haven’t sold our captain. Kane wasn’t the club captain.

How the hell do you not know that?
