Was at a gig tonight and just came back to find 30+ messages and ITK in the thread. Assumed it was done and dusted but now it seems we are Everton to Brighton’s Spurs.

Jokes aside from an outsiders point of view it seems Barca didn’t want to let him go with an option or obligation. Or if they did not for a price we would accept. Ether way we were not interested in there terms so stepped back.

For Fati it’s a bad move in that he will obviously be back up to Mitoma but I guess long term he will now have a chance to redeem himself in the eyes of Barca and potentially earn back his spot.

For Brighton it’s an excellent move and I can only but tip my hat to them. One must assume they will now have a foot in the door if they want to sign him further down the

For us tho, if we actually had serious interest, it’s fucking embarrassing. No excuse tbh. We got done by Brighton on a player we were supposedly chasing for all summer.

Anyway, fun while it lasted. Must say I’m interested to see how he does this season. Funny seeing us get played by Brighton instead of a Chelsea or City. Signing Johnson won’t make up for that.

I would just like to point out that Brennan Johnson scored more goals last season, in the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest, than Ansu Fati has ever scored with Barcelona in La Liga. Do with that what you will.
22 in 70 La Liga games is what I'm seeing.

The hatred stems from 2 decades of him ballsing up deals lol.

In all seriousness though even signing him on a straight loan would have been worth it! He’s a CL level player already and would have chipped in with some goals and assists!
But you know if we’d have signed him on a straight loan there would have been equal amounts of complaining about us developing other teams players.

Building blocks would be the option to buy we wanted though, surely?

If it isn’t available, then get the player. Make the team better. Aim to qualify for CL.

Then either sign or replace player with other options available next summer and more time to plan and sell the deadwood.

A loan without option may not be ideal, but who else can we get to improve our front 3?

I was just challenging your use of building blocks, which without an option would be short termism, plan to sell the deadwood won't happen, what has happened now will be repeated next season.

I was wondering where you were all night because I was over here bitching by myself 😂

I live in Brighton and the last thing we need is another Fati. The state of the hen doo's that come for a weekend downhere is bad enough already.

And thats my toxic joke for the year done. Thanks everyone!

So according to ITK in space of 1,5 hour it was all done at Spurs and Brighton couldn't afford 120k per week, then it fell of and Brighton agreed a loan deal which would easily make Fati top earner at Brigthon when he also plays in Mitoma position? Maybe it's just me but I would consider it's pretty impossible. Something is wrong here, especially when Ornstein said we were just considering, Romano that it was never done and Dan or Alasdair said nothing about Fati.

I mean, I’ve checked it and BJ scored 8 goals last year. And Fati has 22 goals in La Liga. Sooooo there’s that.

Unless you’ve phrased that in such a weird way as to say BJ scored 8 goals in one season and Fati has scored 7 max.
Yes I meant season to season

Some premier league clubs actually spend the insane amount of money they bring in.
