Am I the only one who just isnt that bothered? I would've taken Fati but we didn't need him IMO.

As much as Levy is a giant pain the arse, a transfer collapsing may not always be his fault. Sounds like he had valid reasons to pull out on this one and if there's another option signed in next 2 days, nobody will be pining over the loan we didnt do for Ansu Fati.

As ever with these situations I think a lot of fans need to get a grip.

I agree to a point but why did we even waste any effort if Levy had no intention off signing him? Just another excuse to say we TRIED.
Wonder who today's we tried player is? How gullible are we all to believe Levy has any intention of spending the Kane money?
Had enough of our owners and chairman!!
Maybe he was working on a deal that was favourable to the club & Ange. Maybe Ange said if you can get him in on loan with an option to buy I'll take him if it's just a loan don't bother. Maybe we made the offer in the morning, Barca came back in the evening saying Brighton are offering a loan only so we walked away

Well, if he was available with an option for a permanent move of course Levy tries to get him, if Barca agrees only for a loan, then there's no point bringing him in. Simple.

Hopefully the itks who have blamed levy on this falling apart will actually clarify why.
Did levy try change terms after it was all agreed? Or is it a case that we had agreed a deal including an option to buy but then Brighton came in and trumped us by being happy to accept a straight loan.
Do think it's important for one of them to actually clarify why the "fuck levy" comment

We're linked and people keep saying they're not impressed, but now we're not getting him and we're angry at Levy for failing us? What?

Seems pretty clear the ITK was right that we had the deal of a one year loan but the details of the loan were unknown. Now we know and so that's why we didn't take them up on the deal and that seems pretty fair to me.

Does anyone know whether he was promised more playing time at Brighton than at Spurs ? Things like that often matter more to players out on loan than much else.

I just think he was promised it's only for a year and then you can go back to Barcelona which is the only place he really wants to be.

I am no levy fan in the slightest, however I wouldn’t want to bring in a player on a straight loan for Barcelona. If that’s what Brighton have offered then they would also accept that over what we were trying to negotiate.

I would rather give those minutes to Solomon than train up another teams player!

the problem is Ange wants him and Levy fails to deliver again

Yah Ange prob wanted him but on a permanent basis. Thus, we tried that, but Barca didn't really want that. We may have had an agreement in principle, but completely understandably Barca pulled out as soon as Brighton came in and agreed to a simple loan.

Have ITKs blamed Levy for this? I’m sure I’ve missed plenty of posts because my god this thread is a mess, but can’t remember seeing any of them blame him.

I’m not that bothered about Fati.

He is nowhere near the player he was before injury and he isn’t even the style of winger we actually need.

I would much rather sign someone who fits the role better, doesn’t have the same injury problems/risk and who we can actually get on a permanent deal.

He will be better off playing at Brighton behind the striker but let’s see how he does with the physicality of the PL. I wouldn’t be that surprised if he ends up injured relatively quickly.

I’m all for criticising Levy (there’s plenty to go at). However, deciding to not helping Barca develop a player isn’t one of them.

So cut off your nose to spite your face?

Yet, we happy to loan out our players with no option attached.

Do you think Sevilla gave a crap that Gil was coming back to us as they were lifting the Europa League trophy last season?

We replaced Kane with Richarlison and Maddison. Not sure how people don't get that.
Even though Kane was supposedly going to stay 24hrs before the deal was done?

now, I’m sure that was conjecture but what if he hadn’t left? What if he signed the deal last January or whenever? We signed Richarlison well before that so I’m not sure that can be used as a cogent theory
