He joined utd in 2015 and has scored 24 goals for them.
Good player but no better than what we already have. - Don’t think he has blistering pace either, seen times where he has been shown down the line and been very ineffective.

17 goals actually I believe, not 18 as I said.

Fair do’s, my fault for trusting Wikipedia lol.

Yeah I wouldn't trust Wikipedia as a source. Also, to be clear, when I said his stats are better than any other wide forward we're linked with, I was referring to his OPTA stats. Obviously each player is in a different team, system, league etc so it doesn't mean all that much in isolation but still shows he's a class player. Doesn't matter anyway as Martial isn't coming and Poch wants Zaha so irrelevant really.

I think it's so dumb that Spurs and United would be unwilling to do business with each other in a mutually beneficial way. If they sell us Martial and we sell them Alderweireld it benefits both clubs. It's pretty basic game theory - cooperation, regardless of relative benefits, tends to ensure absolute benefits to both parties.

Alderweireld fixes a bigger problem for Utd than Martial does for us yet we would pay the bigger fee. I totally get your point but I can see why DL would be reluctant

Martial is only 22 while Toby will be 30 before this coming season is over. That's the (legit) reason for the higher asking there.

But Toby is the finished article, Martial still learning.

Why fly him to all the way across the world to LA a week ago knowing that his girlfriend is heavily pregnant and he'd probably have to leave for the birth of his child? Doesn't make sense to me surely he could have just stayed in Manchester and train so he didn't run the risk of not being there for the birth

Maybe she's gone in to labour prematurely, maybe she's having medical problems. Who knows.

Toby's got a £25m release clause next year and dodgy hamstrings. I make Martial worth far more than Alderweireld at present, probably by about £15m based on all the factors involved with the pair

Toby has had 2 hamstring injuries in his career. Wouldn't call that dodgy
