It's going to be difficult, but Toby is still the one Mourinho wants, and while that is the case my opinion is there is still a chance this can happen.
Thanks Trix. I agree with this. Toby is the trump card here. You can picture Levy and Woodward on the phone on Thursday at 4pm after a week of negotiating and Woodward finally relenting "Oh FFS! Go on then Danny, Toby for Martial."

Equally, you can see Levy being a stubborn idiot.

Equally you can see Woodward finally agreeing at 4pm, and then Levy trying to add on an extra million with 20 minutes to go

I think I remembering seeing a post that martial add-on fees are close to triggering, like 1 more league goal will cost united £7.7m or something. If he is to go, better for them if its this window.

So no zaha, probably no Martial, it seems we've put all our eggs in this basket and now we're caught up shit creek

Agreed, but it depends on if utd get another CB in.Maureen wants a CB so badly and I can't see Utd or Woodward. Waiting till the last minute in not getting one. I rate it as 10% chance of them changing their mind, but that doesn't mean we won't sell Toby to them

Selling Toby and not getting what we are wanting from Man Utd would be a horrible situation to deal with.

This. It’s why I think we haven’t pulled the trigger on a deal to get Zaha. We’re hoping Man U will relent and go for the swap deal.

Absolutely. I do think the Maguire situation has made a difference though, will be interesting to see what happens at Yanited if Jose doesn't get his way. We all know how stubborn he is. Won't be long before he's bearing all to the press.

Not buying the Yerry Mina link at all (although he is tall enough to get Jose's pulse racing). Think that's a leak on their part. Maybe they are starting to twitch.

Very poor alternative to Toby. In fact I would say they are better off sticking with what they already have.

If Utd don’t agree to sell Martial to us then Toby can not go the other way. Pretty sure the fan base would support Levy if this was his stance.

Unfortunately I fear United will flutter £45-£55million under Levy’s nose and he’ll bite regardless.

But would he be good enough for us? if the fee is 35m that everton refused to pay very young and impressed in all games in WC

We could probably get a decent homegrown backup at that price, I like Lascelles and we've been linked before. I worry Mina is a bit of a Sakho, physical beast, good in a low block but unsure on the ball, hence why Barca want rid.

I'd consider a loan but £30m+ seems a rip.
