I can't see a swap deal happening. Not only do they very rarely happen in the Premier league but it would need someone to agree two deals with Levy in one go.

Sanchez/ Mkhitaryan?

Take your point though - they are quite rare. Can’t see it happening for us.

Some one put it perfectly yesterday when they said we couldn't even get Sancho from City in a swap with Walker, why would we expect Martial?

While I agree. There are some differences:-

- Levy really doesn't like Utd due to past dealings. City I think we are on ok terms with.

- City offered a world record fee.

- We've had a boner for Martial for years now, and he would be a serious coup and statement of intent for us. Sounds like a fair bit of groundwork has gone in with the player too (I'm sure we really rated Sancho however)

Some business for Mourinho that if he can swap Mkhitaryan and Martial, two players he doesn't want, for Sanchez and Toby.

I say Mourinho, and not Utd, because only Jose will get the benefit of those two aging players, leaving an expensively assembled aging squad for his replacement.

Plus City really didn't want Jadon sancho to go whereas United are quite prepared to sell Martial.

But sure Sancho was only going to Dortmund for a year and then signing for us Zeki Fryers style :)

This Martial transfer could still happen I believe based on nothing but a feeling of surely ta fuck we are working on something big....

How we were never able to get Sancho as part of the Walker deal when he left for Dortmund that very summer is completely beyond me. Really poor effort from the negotiatiors in charge of this one he should have been ours

Wait, Levy isn't the worlds best negotiator in the world?!

He definitely isn't and I've never stated that he was, but the clubs hands are tied with the sale of Alderweireld compared to Walkers sale due to the clause kicking in next year

He isn’t. History shows that. He especially does not know how to play on the top table. Sometimes we all reach our limits in life. I believe he has reached his. And don’t give me all the stadium cost bollox. We needed to strengthen the first team and sell those we do not want cheaply. Unfortunately unless we pull a rabbit out of the hat we will fall behind the pack this year.

What do you think he does for a living? What circles do you think he mixes in and has done for decades outside of football? He's not some little fifty shilling tailor who got lucky and got a job as a football club chairman.

Maybe we weren’t in for Sancho because we had high hopes for Edwards.

I guarantee most of the links with players are agents drumming shit up.

Herc definitely suggested we wanted Sancho and even hinted that he’d be coming back to England this summer - but obviously that doesn’t look like happening now

So basically it was a poor footballing decision by the club yet again when it comes to attracting niche talent, especially seeing as he is homegrown.

If what you're saying is true that we never considered Sancho because of Edwards that to me would be an epic fail given Edwards apparent chip on his shoulder

Can’t believe how many babies are now on SC nothing but negativity moan moan moan!!

At the end of the transfer window ladies and gents we will make a signing but if we don’t it’s not the end of the world because there’ll be other windows.

Wasn’t there something weird with Sancho though? Something with him not being on a senior contract made it easier for City to keep him from us.
