I'm a self-confessed ITK addict during the transfer season so just wandering if our excellent ITKs have heard anything and will they be putting it on the ITK thread? Think we're all dying to know what's happening behind the scenes!!

unfortunatly not even the itks can 100% know what Harry himself is thinking.! Its just gonna be a waiting game until the club come out with some solid facts.

I am not ITK but the media and English footballing public ( bar Tottenham fans ) want him as England manager.

Harry himself has said in the past it would be hard for an Englishman to turn the job down and so everyone equates this as he would not turn the job down.

End of the day it will be Harry that decides what he wants to do.

I just can't for the life off me understand why he would want to go. He's taken the side from "soft underbelly spurs" to a side capable of challenging for major honors. If I were in his shoes I certinally would be going anywhere. However, with that said its looking likely he will take the England job, the real tilting point for me was when he said that he'd "make the best decision for his family". In other words, he wants half the workload for twice the money as a nice way of easing into eventual retirement. Though I could have read that in a different way to which he intended.

no ITK, but i think he will be off at the end of the season. he has always said its a job he wants and he could never turn it down.
what i hope does not happen though is if he comes out publicy and says he is stayng with spurs until the end of the season and then quitting for england. that will have the same impact like capello has saying he is quitting after the euros.....

one thing i thought about aswell the other day which pisses me off..
when managers and players get asked about possible signings etc (during transfer windows) they get all clammy and say its disrespectful to talk about other players who are contracted at other clubs etc etc... BUT everyone and there wife is talking about harry leaving for another job its OK is it?. Same thing in my eyes and very disrespectful!

He will take it because he is old school, country comes first, always. Never forget he is not a Spurs man.

he is English through and through, has a picture of Bobby Moore lifting the World Cup in his office.

just hope his wife and recent stress and health issues make him think the hassle will not be worth it

I bumped into Harry in an apple store. Not buying an iPhone of course, but getting his week supply of granny smith.

I asked if he will be taking the England job and he said it would be a dream to join Utd. I said what the fuck you on about?

not exactly , he did say its not as clear cut as the media suggest

Yes exactly. He said the media would need to find someone else.

I do love how every jumps on the bit where he said it would be hard to turn it down, yet ignore the bit where he said he would struggle not working with players day to day.

It's a long old drive from Sandbanks to Burton-upon-Trent, Arry's never had a managerial position further north than where he is now, and from what he's said previously he wouldn't want to either.

Obviously England is a different kettle of pish, but that will definitely be a factor for him

I took the 'I'll do what's best for my family' as a positive actually. In his press conference on Friday he talked about how every England manager gets crucified by the media and given what he faced with the court trial recently, I'm not sure that he's so sure about throwing himself into the limelight like that. The media jumping on Stuart Pearce this week will also help - they've been putting him forward as a golden child for years and he's in the job less than a day and he's got his past raked through!! Funny how none of this came up when he was announced as Team GB coach!
I think harry may look at it and think that as much as he would be proud to be England manager, is it worth the hassle? He's on the pig's back at WHL.
