I'd written Keane off a bit to be honest, but today I thought he was good and better than Defoe. His movement was as good as it was before he left for Liverpool. It's silly to criticise him for his performace today as he was clealry our most effective forward.

Keane played better than Defoe today. Played well imo

This.

If he had put away one of his chances it would of been a great performance. Knowing people on here, he could score 10 in one game and he would still have played shit.

He worked hard, and got into some great scoring positions, it was definately a good performance from him.

I've criticised him but he did well, when he faded he was replaced.

Admittedly went mental when I heard it was Keane and Defoe, but they did well.

Arry got it spot on.

Ok he missed chances but he got into them positions, if he keeps doing that he will find his touch again.

Cicinho, I'm not one to criticise other posters but you really do need to chill out.
'Arry's tactics were spot on by using Defoe and Keane together as between them they had far more pace than either of the bin dippers centre backs could handle.
Keane created several chances which unfortunately didn't come off but today he was facing an outstanding keeper in Molina, undoubtedly on of the Premiership's finest.
Both Jermaine and Robbie's chasing and hussling helped create spaces which Luka and Wilson were able to make use of, each nearly scoring as well.
Enjoy today's results. Hopefully we'll do the same against Hull in the next game, where I, for one, am looking forward to seeing what team 'Arry comes up with against two very good central defenders.

only spurs fans can find something to moan about when we have just beatern a team that are tipped to challenge for the title. FFS we played well today and deserved our win.every one of the players played well today and they showed commitment and tactical awareness thought-out. insteed of a post like this, why not say well done lads more of the same please????

We could do the same for Defoe, and i think Defoe is a fantastic little player

some points:
Defoe misses alot of 1-on-1 chances - He doesn't
Defoe takes the shot when a pass is a better option (single minded)
Defoe has never had a big intarest from the top 4 (something we hope to be 1 day) - Irrelevant
Defoe couldnt support any striker he has played with? - Crouch
Defoe is comfortable knowing he will play, after Harrys comments (not healthly)
i could go on

(and thats before we get on to the offsides )
A lot of those points are clearly wrong.

Keane played like 10X better than defoe, the keane hate is fucking disgusting.

Defoe was just about as bad as lennon, all i can remember about defoe was being ofside nothing surprising thought is it, its like his trade mark

Just back from the game and thought Keane did well.

Not surprised to come on here and find people moaning about his performance, but again i thought he played well and was unlucky not to score.

Defoe misses alot of 1-on-1 chances - He doesn't

He gets few 1 on 1 chances because he is often caught or muscled off the ball

A lot of those points are clearly wrong.

He doesn't- Defoe might not be as bad at one on ones as Keane has but he has missed his fair share

Irrelevant- then isn't Keane being at liverpool for only 7months irrelevent? not given the time ect

Crouch- From what i saw it was Crouch surporting Defoe most of the time

It looked to me like Defoe was playing farther forward than Keane, as Keane was dropping back to pick up the ball like he used to, and Defoe trying to run around and/or establish in front of one of the center backs to pick up the ball. The two best chances fell to Keane, though, and he didn't come through.

How could I forget

And that!!!

Anyway if Keane had scored today what could anyone have criticised him for.

yeah but he didnt score, glen or jamie even said we should have been 2-3 up at half time
and that is being REALISTIC
it's big chances like the ones he had that win or lose you games,
thankfully our 2 defenders came through and it wasen't an issue.
let's just hope it dont work out like that too much cus our team shouldn't need it.

and no way does defoe make a mess of easy chance likes robbie does, your crazy
defoe is a clinical finisher maybe a bit greedy but good at what he does
and he actually does hold up the ball and look for team-mates
he like bright again today and generally looks like he's improving more and more.

then on the other hand, you have keano who has stagnated over the years
if he wasn't a messiah like he is to most of you delusional mini-robbies
he would be like any other ordinary ex: zamora, davies ETC

some of you are just blinded cus of history of being a fan fave.

He played well and was unlucky Reina made two great saves... We can do without fans like you after a great performance from the lads

seems some people can only see the basics, missed chances and stuff and not the overall game. Keano played well, missed some good chances but moved the defence midfield around creating space for the other attacking players.
It's no coincidence that when keano went off we couldn't get any sustained position in the Liverpool half, due to the static nature And poor touch of the other strikers.

I thought he had a good game. People moaned how bad he was last season but I think we saw more of the Keano we know today. Always giving his all, linking the play and hassling the defenders. Unlucky not to score, but full credit to Reina for the save from the header.

well im not a defoette nor a crouch fan i just think,
defoe will step it up again this year, keane will be his mediocre adored self
pavly wont get much minutes and crouch wont do that well (doesn't fit @ spurs)
people need to get off defoes back and start believing in him, look at his england form,
you can all say well we just beat liverpool and blah blah blah
but the idea is to maintain a high level, improve the squad, stive for consistency.

weve had keane a good few yrs and we see the same thing season after season
7-8 decent games and the rest he looks pony, maybe a spectacular here n there to excite the younger fans
but not top 4 club level player, uhm liverpool was a perfect platform for the so-called
talent of 'keane' but yeah he gets sold back within months n all is forgiven
LETS THINK OF THE FUTURE PEOPLE, NOT TRY AND HAVE THE SAME POOR QUALITY
(KEANE) YR AFTER YR, LETS TRY NEW PARTNERS

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

:bs: :duh:
