On paper we have the fastest players in the EPL but so far this season and also last season it hasn't been evident.

To me the cause is clear. Under Harry, he said they focused almost exclusively on fitness. The upshot was super-fit players with amazing pace and endurance. Even Bale has never been as fast under AVB as he was in the 2010-2011 season. Not only did we have explosive counter-attacking pace past the 90th minute, but we could keep pressing wave upon wave of forward momentum.

Now, training is entirely different and the effect is clear. Our football is almost pedestrian.

Positioning and passing speed/accuracy are what matter as the ball will always be the fastest thing on the pitch

So, with that in mind, Arsenal and Liverpool will probably be our closest rivals this season and compared to them, we're looking in good shape to beat them for that 4th place; hell, we're already 3pts ahead of Arsenal, and might go 6pts clear next weekend!!

We're looking very solid in midfield and we're a couple of defenders away from looking very solid at the back

Add in a creative midfielder or two, and suddenly we're looking very good indeed

We're improving on last season's squad, we've won our 2 opening games and the transfer window hasn't shut yet

In terms of pace, I can't see how much has changed from last year, with the exception of not having Bale. We still have a lot of pace all over the park.

Personally, I loved seeing our midfield press them to eternity.
