Anyone else getting sick of Arry not taking a united front with Levy?

He seems to be distancing himself from the Modric situation at every opportunity. Such quotes as

"It's up to the chairman", "We don't want him to go" "We want to keep him here"

Whereas Levy has made a clear stance from the get go:

"We won't be selling our best players" "Luka will not be sold" etc etc

I'd personally like to see our manager taking a united front with the Chairman.

He hasn't really communicated the right kind of messages for me, when really he should be putting off potential suitors as much as Levy

what he says is correct, and probably stops a lot more questions coming his way.

He does it all the time, doesn't bother me at all.

Me neither

Haryr has many marginally annoying media habits, but this isn't really one of them

What I am getting sick of is Harry constantly being in the media be it Talkshite (only idiots call up phone in's you know)/Sky/Newspaper. Just give it a break Harry and fully concentrate on getting our squad ready for our most important season in many a year. I don't want to hear about whats going wrong with the England team/Fabio, I would much rather you address the problems we have at our club i.e. why we went on a run of nearly 3 months dropping points left right and centre that cost us 4th last season......

What he said today about Modric has annoyed the shit out of me. We've just put the fires out, and he goes and says what he said. What the fuck, Harry?!

Enough's enough.

I don't agree with this as such. I don't think it was damaging in as much as it pretty much confirmed what everyone was thinking

I actually think having the record straight is no bad thing

Modric, in an ideal world, wants to leave. I'd rather it was clear now than him saying it in a few weeks time and the press starting again on the story

At least now his feelings are out in the open. We also know that he's implied he'd honour his contract, and the club aren't selling. At least it's clear

I'm relaxed about it.

I would never have believed that I would get to the point when I didn't want to hear anything on the telly from our manager.

I reached that point with Harry at the end of the season.

I used to hang on his every word ............now it just sounds like crap.

I think both the former and latter parts of your last sentence are over reactions

It's just the way he operates. We all have issue with it, but on balance I still trust in his overall impact as manager

We're a smaller club (financially) than those around us in the league, his is arguably the toughest job of any of the other top 6 because we have similar expectations, but smaller resources

Harry is Harry. I suggest we don't judge him by the performance in the media. Judge him by the performance on the pitch.

agree to some extent, but when we do that we are called "idiots" and told we shouldn't expect any better than 5th.

He's trying to apply pressure on Levy to sign new players. Good!

He's probably frustrated that the club didn't close deals last summer and christmas. He'll also know why players haven't come (wages) so he's also communicating that to the fans through the media.

Fuck me. Mountain. Mole hill. Not even that.

He has actively said in his most recent interviews he wants to keep all our best players and sign one or two in the calibre of Rossi.

Both him and Dan the Man together pacified Modders (ie. said fuck off if you think you are going to Chelsea)

So what are you burbling on about? Are you for real?

I think the OP has a bit of a point.

It does get a bit tiring in all honesty...and I for one think Harry's biggest relationship is not with himself, but one with a flipping microphone ...which is pretty much the same thing

But in all honest he was always going to comment on a story as big as this, which is fine, but all this...the boy is confused...

what the fuck he is confused about, personally I would just hand him the contract he signed recently to see if that helps for clarity, or remind him of all the statements regarding what he thinks he can achieve with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club etc...

players tell you what you want to hear in the moment, its all a load of bollox - so cant blame Modric for that, they all do it....its the norm.

The point is its not unreasonable to ask him to give it another season given the implications it would have far our Club this summer, which are greater than the loss of the individual player, and furthermore the signing of the recent contract.

He's only 25, will get a healthy pay rise to boot and is still playing in a very good side where he is settled and has mates around him etc....and knows he will get his wish if we fail to reach the big time next time of asking...

how depressing

Yeah and in those situations we really need a man with a vision, with a sense of purpose, someone with utter belief in his own abilities and a blueprint for the future ............from his comments,I can say that he is not the guy to grab us by the neck and drag us forward.
