Last match: Chelsea vs Bolton

Oh great, a ref that doesn't give 2 of the most blatent handballs just because it's against a Sky 4 side.

Also sent off that Wolves player for a weak tackle on an Arsenal player.

Well thank fuck Howard **** Webb isn't anywhere near our team or match. Knowing our luck he'll get our last game of the season though.

Forget Spurs-Burnley, Webb might get the Champions League final if a few things go his way.

I think it is a sad indictment of the current state of affairs in football and EPL that the question of who is going to referee the next crucial game becomes (quite justifiably too) so important.

Gone are the days when the referee was considered to be best when he was not one of the central figures on the pitch, quietly and objectively controlling the match instead. Refs like Webb have flourished in the super-commercialized world of big TV/big teams-biased football.

It's pathetic that the choice of referee has become as important as the team line-ups...

Good point. It really doesn't bode well for the future when the refs that love to be the centre of attention get picked for the big games. Maybe the FA like the controversy caused by the poor decisions

Couldn't they ask Phil Cornwell or Paul Hawksbee to ref it.

I'm sure they'd do it.

Someone should start logging refs performance against us, noting down mistake by mistake for each game over a year, i reckon there would be some very clear anti-spurs decisions. They say it evens itself out but we have seem some horrendous ones in the past few years and I dont see us getting 'lucky' that often...
