Appalling that Lloris was allowed to stay on

I am in total shock the last few weeks with the Spurs medical staff. First they let Andros stay in after being knocked unconscious and now they let Lloris stay in? Completely dangerous and barely regarding any protocol on concussions. I don't even think they gave him a concussion test.

When you are knocked out, you have a concussion, that's a fact. In no world should either of those players have been allowed to stay on.

They would have had to knock Lloris out again to get him off the pitch. That doesn't sound safe either.

It was only a matter of time before a negative thread appeared about the medical staff, how they've escaped the negativity until this point is beyond me.

After all we only have a doctor on the bench and fully qualified medical staff and what the fuck do they know.

I don't think a young Mike Tyson could knock Lloris unconscious. Mike would only bust up his hands very very badly punching him ;)

Yep, it was shocking really. The player is always going to want to stay on when he suffers a head injury. It is the job of the medical and coaching staffs to do the right thing and ensure the player comes off.

Worryingly on Soccer AM Andros said that after he went into the stands AVB was putting pressure on him to go back on.
sounds like he learnt something from old 'arry. sometimes you have to encourage players to grow a pair of bollocks. didn't look like andros needed any encouragment though, he looked desperate to come on...

They clearly wanted him to come off and all (even Dawson, who could be seen to mouth "he's fucked" to other players) tried to talk him off. But he was in some sort of haze and was having none of it.

They cannot in that situation force him off, as the keeper has to be on the pitch for the game to restart, so bar physically restraining him, i'm not sure what option they had.

Fair play to Hugo for wanting to carry on, that's the kind of spirit we want but there really should be a rule, like in American football (I think), where any head injury is checked by an independent doctor and his decision is final.

Sorry @SandroClegane but there is a massive difference between you and the Spurs medical staff, at least one of them is actually a doctor. If they were worried about the condition of Chuck Lloris they'd have been far more forceful in getting him off

This wasn't a Petr Cech skull cave in and he was clearly fine to continue
