Points are relative to the strength of the league that season and your own team.
It does not reflect that you are better or worse than previous years.
In a competitve league you could have a shit hot team and finish 4th with less points than other seasons where you ffinish 6th.
It means nothing.
AVB fans cannot get their head around this and repeatedly drag up the record points total that season which, as I've said, meant fk all.
Its where you finish that counts.

Yes, but their lower points total got them relegated. Arsenal's got them one place higher. Points total means nothing. It is where you finish. When is the last time a manager was fired based purely on points total?

Unforunately not. They're exactly where they should be. Not quite good enough to win the title, but good enough to win domestic cups and qualify for CL. Job done for Wenger I guess, but it's not going to keep the board happy for long. Clubs want to move on to bigger and better things rather than stagnate.

Look at us, for instance. Pretty much where we should be this season, but you can bet that our board will expect an improvement. To be fair, I'd make them right. You've got to at least aim high.
