Are our players fitter than opposition players?

Maybe we are just hustling the opposition? Pretend we are shit for 88mins and surprise then by actually playing football at the end?

The late goals you quote are over 38 games not 16 and I think we have been playing a higher energy game than last season
Against Everton we did but today we didn't and under AVB in his first season we scored much more late goals on average

Plus 2 of of your 4 games, would of been totally different games had it not been for a man getting sent off

We also conceded a lot of late goals in AVB 1st season.
How do you know the games vs hill and villa would have been totally different? Do you own a crystal ball?
Vs hull especially I thought we were much better in the 2 nd half before the sending off

the fact we could barely mustered a chance against 11 men says we would of struggled to score

AVB conceded a few goals at the beginning of his reign but it was never that bad

Pochettino however continually has always had a record of conceding late goals and not scoring late goals

So considering we were scoring late goals before pochettino came and that pochettino teams weren't scoring goals, not to mention his teams had more recovery time. I hazard a guess and say this isn't down to poch

I think we start off strong in terms of energy and pressing and then our players get a bit tired and trail off by the end of the first half. They still come out a bit leggy after the break but then take advantage when the other team tire near the end of the game.

Better stamina, or boring our opposition that we get a late goal....

Got to be stamina ;)

Fitter? Maybe, maybe not.

However, on the evidence of this season I would say they are lazier. But then maybe that's why we have the energy for the last 5/10 mins. Coast through he game, hardly pressing, occasionally hanging a leg out as a tackle, and well, you've all seen the rest.

A few more Harry Kane's wouldn't go amiss imo.

No-one knows, but against Villa, certainly, we were looking like a beaten team until Benteke aped out. We certainly came out with more purpose against Hull in the second half (totally unlike our tits-in-a-trance performance against the Barcodes), but given that we made heavy weather of it against ten men I would not have said a win against eleven was nailed on. Don't forget that even after we equalised they came close to going ahead again.

Against Everton, we seemed to run out of steam fairly early in the second half, probably due to our exertions in the first.

Possibly but it may just be that extra quality being the difference in the closing minutes like when Bale used to win us games.
Even so we could've easily been 3-1 down so it's not like we were in control and our fitness levels got us through. We have been very lucky in all these games we've won in last minute. Very.

Rope-a-dope football - it works unless the opposition has a shit hot striker like Aguero, but if they do we get hammered. ;)

First of all there is zero muscle injuries, zero hamstring or groin injuries suffered this season. There were couple of knee injuries and back problems. This has probably got to be the least amount of time our players had to spend in the treatment room.

So, by this alone we can say our players are in better training regiment than previous years

We seem to come on strong in the later stages of games and have a few late winners this season. Poch double training sessions having an effect? Or just a coincidence?

Maybe its cos we start so slowly we still have juice in the tank at the end?

We didn't press swansea today, Kane did but they hard the ball most of the time and we sat deep

2 of those 4 games, the comebacks came as a result of a man getting sent off, so technically speaking have 11 players does make you fitter than 10 players as they have to do less work

We haven't played a completely different 11, we finished matches strongly under Tim Sherwood and AVB, were we fitter then or are people taking the gimmick of double sessions

Last season in the last 20 mins we won these points

Cardiff 0-1 Tottenham - Paulinho 93 winner
Tottenham 1-0 Hull - Soldado 80 min winner
Fulham 1-2 Tottenham - 2 goals in last 20 mins after losing 1 nil
Tottenham 3-2 Southampton - Siggy 90min winner
West Brom 3-3 Tottenham - Eriksen 90min winner

The season before in the last 5 games, we Bale scored goals in the last 20 mins to change the result
