When Boro were struggling against relegation they had one outstanding player - Juninho. He was brilliant. Too good for the rest of their team and they went down.

Is Modric too good for his team mates ?

No, his team mates just need to get a pair of balls, stand up, and be counted.

Id like to add though, Corluka, Woodgate and King are all equally as good at what they do. Modric to being influencial, creative and what not is the equivalent of Corluka, King and Woody being stalwarts defensively and composed.

As regards to the rest of the squad, im sure on their day the likes of Bentley, Lennon, JJ, Hudd, Bent & Bale are capable of outshining the croat - consistency is the key word here though.

Modric shows up to matches 50% more of the time then his teamates.

Our defence has been ok but apart from Lennon the rest of our midfielders have been woeful. And Lennon needs to get into more scoring positions. And as for our strikers they appear incapable of operating on Modric's wavelength.

No. Modric is a good player, but imo, we are actually better set up when he doesn't play.

Controversial I know, but we are better as 4-4-2 and Modric has been poor in a 4-4-2 this season. Playing Modric in a free role serves only to isolate whoever we have up front.

I agree, but I don't see why Modric can't do damage in a free role coming in from the left; Zidane managed it....

Agree. Was never sure what was intended when we bought him. Always seemed more a case of buying him because we could rather then because there was a clear idea of how we would use him.

All this negativity, obviously things are not great as we are not playing well and most importantly not scoring.

But I bet you if we had held on to our point at Newcastle, nicked a win against Fulham and stayed 0-0 yesterday half of our fans screaming doom and gloom right now would be saying how great everything is and wondering what we need to do to take that last CL place.

Even though the performances would have been the same, our postivites and negatives would be mostly the same also yet people would have polar opposites of their current emotions.

We as Spurs fans need a little realism, when we snatch a 2-1 against Liverpool we are not going to win the league and when we lose at a tough away ground like the Hawthorn's we are not going to go into free fall and end up in the Vauxhall conference in a few years time.

Yes we need to buy a few players, yes we need to start creating and scoring more goals. But the players have shown they have what it takes to get out of this mess and I am confident that come the end of the season we will go on a few more good runs of matches and end up lower mid table.

Now while this is a dissapointing season it is realistically where we are currently at, lower mid table and we need to improve on this. The knee jerk reactions to every result is pathetic though, everytime we win a game people act like we are the best team in the world and when we lose the worst.

Everyone just needs to get behind the lads and they will rally and go on another winning run soon, it's just a problem with having a team that are all new to one another and young at that with little to no leaders on the pitch. Heads go down when things do not go your way, we are bound to get the rub of the green soon though and then confidence will again build and we will pull clear of the releation zone for now (but not towards the CL places, certainly not this year so please don't act like we will win we squeeze past Wigan on Friday)

I agree the team needs our backing, but we shouldn't be blind to our current problems.

There are positives in that our defence isn't bad at the moment. Gomes, BAE and Dawson have improved, Woodgate and Corluka are good and King is playing most league games.

We just don't have enough goals in the team. If the opposition double up against Modric and Lennon and defend deep they are in with a great chance of getting a result against us.

Harry did well to get a decent run of results from this team, but I'm worried about who he's going for in the transfer window.

We'll probably be OK, but only bacause they are worse teams in the league than us. The wheels are coming off at Pompey and West Brom, Stoke and Sunderland are going to continue to struggle. Ashley staying at Newcastle might be a really good thing for us too

Excatly,

I'm saying, we are currently a lower middle half Prem team, with a squad and team worthy of pushing for a tope 6 place.

However that is not where we want to be, we want to be a top 6 team pushing for top 4 and above. For this to happen we need better balance in our team, to be more solid at the back, more creative in midfield (we need a suitable foil for Modric to play CM in a 4-4-2) and a striker or two to replace what we have lost in Keane and BErbatov.

There are many problems with our team and squad, but things are not as bad as people are screaming and the team needs support not boo's

Haha. No way. Juninho scored and created goals. Modric has made us either too weak when he is 442 or too goal shy when he is in the hole.

And he hasn't really created shit for us either with a poor assist ratio. And has barley scored a goal. So whats the point?

Yea and if we'd won every game this season 5-0 then we wouldn't be moaning. Not being funny, but we didn't, we DID fail to create anything int he 2nd half against newcastle, we DID let in a goal and lost the game, we DID fail to create anything at home against Fulham, we DID fail to create anything against the bottom club and we DID let in 2 goals against them.
