I'm not just talking about the last 2 games though. It runs far deeper than that. This obsessed pessimism where we have to complain about something. There are far more positives about being a Spurs fan than there are negatives. There are more positives from our start to the season too.

1.We are pressing teams far better than we have in the past.
2.We have stability.
3.We actually have a balance to the squad.
4.We have a destructive defensive midfielder in Palacios.
5.Left back is no longer a problem.
6.We have 4 quality strikers again (Pav is a quality player and cant even get a game)
7.King and Woodgate are 2 of the best centre backs in the Premier League.
8.We have good cover in every position.
9.We have young players who will only get better (Giovani, Bale, Bassong).
10.We have one of the best creative midfielders in England (Modric).
11.We have some great professionals who wont be on the front pages of the papers (the Croation lads, Palacios, Gomes).
12.We can honestly watch Spurs play and know that we dont have an influence on the referee.
13.We're not a dirty team full of cheats who surround the ref at every opportunity.
14.We play open attacking football.
15.Lennon is one of the best right wingers in the Premier League.
16.Defoe is the in form striker in the Premier League.
17.We have great support at every game.
18.We fill out WHL no matter who we play.
19.We spend big money on new players.
20.We're building a new Stadium and Training Ground.
21.We have great financial control and stability off the pitch.

How many do i have to name?

We have stability.(what Corluka having to come in for King all the time, Cudicini coming in for Gomes, and Keane playing on the left for Modric, hardly stable?

We have 4 quality strikers again (Pav is a quality player and cant even get a game) If only we would actually play them instead of keane!
King and Woodgate are 2 of the best centre backs in the Premier League. If only they could actually play next week!
We have good cover in every position. Yer as shown when Modric was injured, please god palacios never does!
We have young players who will only get better (Giovani, Bale, Bassong). Tick :)
We have one of the best creative midfielders in England (Modric). if only he didn;'t have a broken leg!
We have some great professionals who wont be on the front pages of the papers (the Croation lads, Palacios, Gomes). Bentley, Gio, King, Hutton
We can honestly watch Spurs play and know that we dont have an influence on the referee.
We're not a dirty team full of cheats who surround the ref at every opportunity. Tick

I guess it is all in the way you look at it - lets just leave it that will we...Like I said, I am a little negative about how the shape of the team is right now, and the injuries etc, but hopefully that will change!

Its just the human way of life m8. Like most cases in life you do 10 years of good stuff in work and you have 1 bad week and thats whats remembered.
In our case we have been seen as the team to break the top 4 and this time with our start, the excitement and expectation is even stronger. You just wait and see when Man City goes through a bad run of form, say they loose to Burnley the fans will be calling for Sparkys head!! forget about the fact that he has done very well IMO with all the big names and he has picked the team spot on every game so far. We may not have spent big like Man City but we have spent alot so the fans are going to want return on that cash.
My take on things is Harry has made bad decisions twice now 2 games running and the is no explanation for the poor tactics but thats only 2 games against 2 quality teams and my faith and trust in Harry is still there.

We have stability.(what Corluka having to come in for King all the time, Cudicini coming in for Gomes, and Keane playing on the left for Modric, hardly stable? Corluka doesn't come in for King, he cover for King, Woodgate and Dawson. Take 3 centre backs out of any other Premier League team and tell me who will play 2 natural cente backs still? Cudicini for Gomes is a negative thing? Keane played on the left for 1 game only. But the stability is more about the fact that we didn't change too much in the summer.
We actually have a balance to the squad. Keane on the left is balacing the team? Keane on the left for one game. We have Bale injured, Kranjcar was on the bench and Giovani can play there comfrotably too. That was a tactical decision to play Keane there, nothing to do with balance.
Left back is no longer a problem. Unless BAE get injured! Bale  IF Ekotto gets injured we might struggle. But we have one of the better left backs in the Premier League, so i see that as a positive.
We have 4 quality strikers again (Pav is a quality player and cant even get a game) If only we would actually play them instead of keane! Tactical decisions which have had us win 4 games in 6.
King and Woodgate are 2 of the best centre backs in the Premier League. If only they could actually play next week! Still 2 of the best in the Premier League.
We have good cover in every position. Yer as shown when Modric was injured, please god palacios never does! No team can replace their best player like for like, its no different to Modric. But Kranjcar is good cover.
We have one of the best creative midfielders in England (Modric). if only he didn;'t have a broken leg! He's injured, big deal.
We have some great professionals who wont be on the front pages of the papers (the Croation lads, Palacios, Gomes). Bentley, Gio, King, Hutton For sure we have a few bad ones too. But i honestly think we have more good characters than bad.
We can honestly watch Spurs play and know that we dont have an influence on the referee. ok, i'm speaking more for myself here, but i for one am proud of the fact that we dont have influence over the officials. Its no secret that the top clubs get favourtism in football, and i just dont see any honour in that.
We fill out WHL no matter who we play. 35k London club, I would hope so
We spend big money on new players. 15/16k is not big money these day, but agreed we do okay Considering all the ins and outs we've had over the years, and the instability we had before Harry, i would say we do more than ok. I remember the days of Christian Gross and even last season, we were still pulling in big crowds. Would we ever boycott the club?
But this is exactly what i'm talking about. There has to be a negative to every positive. We lose players to injury for example, but it happens in football, not just Spurs. Imagine what would happen if Torres and Gerrard get injured for Liverpool. Rooney and Giggs. Terry and Lampard. We've lost Modric and now King. It happens, we deal with it.

Maybe its not just Spurs, maybe its football in general though. It may be the dominance of the top 4 which has put such a cloud over the club. What happened to the days of shouting about our club being better than anyone elses? Or can we not enjoy football unless we support a top 4 club? We're in the top division, have been in the Premier League since it started, and we should be able to enjoy it a lot more imo.

Okay then, we have more positives than negatives this week at the club, I will try and put a positive thing on loosing, Modric, Woodgate, and probably now King and Bassong for the next game! You asked why some people were being negative this week, I tried to explain why I thoght thight might be - Yes things have been worse for this football club, God knows I know ( I have supported Spurs for 37, YES 37 years!!) All I am saying is over the last couple of weeks, it has been (for me!) more negative than positive - hence the negative comments!

I think that maybe the point of the original thread is being missed. You are right, these last 2 games have been more negative than positive, but what about the 4 before them?

We had 12 points but I don't recall a mountain of positive threads on this community or people commending Harry for his tactics etc.

All of a sudden we lose games against the 2 best sides in the league, people seem to think all our players are crap and the manager doesn't know what he is doing anymore.

For f*** sake we have had more mentions of Martin Jol since yesterday than we have in the last year.

This is what frustrates me and I think Million?

Fair enough lads, see your point - yes my negativity is realy just born out of the negative play, attitude and tactics I have seen over the last two weeks - yes they are very good teams, but we did get results off them last year, and I think we could have done better this year with a little bit more application.

I personally was not one of the people who was throwing around praise for our four wins, I thoght we were quite lucky in a few of those games and results could have easily have gone the other way.

However, with a "full strength team" Spurs are in great shape this year - without the pressure to perform, I can see the likes of Bentley, Bale, Gio making major contributions this year!

But once again, with the small squad, the injuries are a real, dare I say it "negative" Woodgate, Dawson, Gomes, Modric, and Kings on off love affair with the club doctor has been a real detriment - and I fair if this continues we could be in real trouble at the back - add to that their deputees, Corluka being pushed in to an uncomfortale looking CB role and Hutton seemingly not rembering what he's job is - plus Keane playing out on the left, has not heped stabalise the team, and unfortuntly it only looks set to get worse (Woodgate not coming back, Dawson not ready, and King and Bassong now injured) Yes people will begin to say negative things in the short term - but it is a long season with up's and downs, or in our case, positve comments and negative comments! Hopefully we can look at the state of our squad in the not to distant future in a positive light!

If we can average 12 points from each of our next 6 games then its happy days. If you consider we have played 3 of the top 4 and West Spam who treat playing us like an FA Cup Final then 12 points is an excellent return and not one sane person could have hoped for anything better

Our next 6 games (Burnley, Bolton, Portsmouth, Stoke, Scum, Sunderland) are clearly easier then our first 6 games so it wouldn't be an optimistic assumption to assume for at least the same points return. Averaging 10 points a game needs to be the aim

Yes we (and by we I say they) are mil1lion.

Too many knee-jerk silly threads in here lately.

We started the season with our best start ever for jesus sakes people and yet you're still moaning after we lost to Man U and Chelsea, who are two of the best teams in the league.

I don't have low expectations, but come on someone has to win a match and them two teams have the quality and big-game players with experience to boot to come out trumps.

I would rep you for your opening post on this thread mil1lion, but love has to be spread, alas.

I would agree, except we now have no recognised CB in the team, and Modric is no longer playing, and we are shifting players left and right to compensate - I f we had the same team that won those first games, I would agree - BUT, the facts are we don't..so i will take what I can get, expect about 9 or 10 if we are really lucky!

This is where the managers and coaches come in and do the best the with what we have left. I believe that we have good players and we need Harry to mold them to give them a chance to win and hopefully not go back to forcing players to paly out of position. Keano is a prime example for me - he is not scoring yet doing a lot for us up front by linking between the midfield and the forwards but i don' think that he is as effective in left mid/left wing. Corluka again doing okay (not great by the satndards he set last year) at RB but not at CB IMHO.

The negatives are so easily seen and so formiliar it just grates away. 1) The left midfield. 2) Our poor away record. 3) Our poor record against the top 4. 4) Robbie Keane's role in the team....when are we going to learn that Robbie Keane is at his undoubted best when his playing off the last defender... making those cleaver runs behind defenders and scoring goals, then doing his cart wheel celebrations (oh he stop that)

The enigma which is RK. People believe because he runs around flapping his arms his doing a job for the team..I beg to differ on that.

Totally agree, he gets way too much credit - harry wouldn't ask Defoe to do any job but the one he does (score goals) and keane is the same, it is the ONLY thing he has ever been good at - Get kranjcar on the left and get Keane back in the 442 where he is at least effective.........

Personally I very rarely complain about a Spurs performance but tend to find myself complaining about some of the awful refs that run our premiership. The bad decisions never even themselves out unless your the sky 4 in which case I think we would find they get more favourable refs. How many times did fletcher run to the ref complaining about decisions and not pick a booking for it ? Ashley Cole turning his back on the ref ...I believe if this was our players you can bet they would be booked. Any guys here who play football must know how demoralising it is to have a ref constantly go against what you feel is right , pros or not , players are human and it will affect them i.e Defoe yesterday and his intent to get someone back.

I post rarely here and get shot down everytime I do but this is what I think and I am sure many others here do if you think about it

Well as Graham Poll says

"In my after dinner speech I often tell how I got the ‘hairdryer’ from Sir Alex Ferguson on one of my first visits to Old Trafford for not knowing one of the rules of football; at the home of Manchester United you play until they win!"

And after all why should we expect referees to give the Sky 4's opponents fair treatment? Oh yes , it's what sport's all about...but who really thinks this is sport anymore?

Fuck it, I choose to believe it's all crooked, just like Lockerbie, because that's closer to the truth when it comes to capitalist power structures. Lasagna anyone ?
