That's the general feeling with everybody that's laughing at us!

Did we simply capitalise on a poor prem season?

Are bale and Modric overrated?

Is Harry? Because maybe it's just the bandwagon behind him being England manager making everybody believe were great!

i don't think were overrated, I do think we are a tired squad though. Its been a long season plagued with injury and to still be in with a shot at 4th this late on is credit to the lads. Remember we lack experience at this level and situations as a team but the experience we are gaining will put us in good stead for seasons to come if these "overrated" players are here for the cause and stick around. I think they will

You do realize you played against Real Madrid, in Madrid, with 10 men, for over 80 minutes, right?

I don't think you can take any evidence from a game away against one of the best sides in the world on good form when we played almost the whole match with 10 men.

Plus the Lennon Shenanigans, which effectively ruined everything, i'm sure Sandro and Modric would have done better without Jenas suddenly being shoe-horned into the team.

inexperienced. if we can keep this squad together next season (huge if), and add a top striker, we will get top 4 again.

In the Premier League we are. Our strikers are shit and we aren't as good attacking as people think.

In the Champions league though we've deserved everything we've gotten.

We have good players, but we have some very average ones too, and they were really shown up.

If your not a good as the other team, you have to work your socks off, pressing the ball. Thats the way we beat Arsenal And Chelsea last year.

Instead, we sat off and let them play. Big mistake.

We are overrated. Last year was a well earned achievement, but by rights we should have gone out of the CL earlier if we were playing to our actual level. We have coasted this season on the skills of Bale, Modric and VDV,a nd more recently players like Sandro.

We have a major hole at the front of squad. It's been there for the season and has been made worse by Harry's triker choices. Why did defoe come on tonight? Where is the logic in bringing on a non-scoring striker when you are trying to hold a 1-0b scoreline with 10 men? Utterly bemusing. But, that said, if we had even one on from striker I think we could have wrapped up 4th by now. Not sure about the CL, but what we want is this again next year, and we've blown it due to a slapdash appraoch to a team that needs to compete well in the Premier League.

Now, all that said, becvause I think we have played above our level in the CL I think that the lads who have been CL mainstays this season really need serious praise.

hand on heart, yes in most respects, a lot of young inexperienced palyers, some of which need carrying and noones taking the responsibility, it feels like dawson is too passive when a few seasons back his communication was avid throughout games.
tired maybe but not in any domestic cups for a while and a long break between cl games, i dont think they get enough game time. Poor tactics by coach at worst possible moments-yes.
i see a lot of comments on the board from people wondering what itd be like if spurs fired on all cylinders for one game, id be happy seeing them get through a game without a lapse in concentration at the back and maybe 1 or 2 goals from the strikers, why is there always a villain?

Who the fuck is laughing and how far did they get in the Champions League? At least we had a few shots on target unlike a certain other team.

Nope, we have a good starting midfield - up there with the best in the prem, for mine. Our defence, were it allowed to learn each other's first names would be good also. Keeper is usually fine but prone to brain-farts now and then.

Our strike-force must be up there with worst in the league though. 9 goals between them all yr. Pathetic and enough to get them their marching orders in the summer, Shirley?

Need more depth, especially depth with pace out wide on the wings and FBs.

With 3 or 4 of the right signings we would be right up their, challenging for shiny cups. Whether we get those signings is another matter.

The people who are laughing at us are the people who have been waiting to do so for so long now, who thought they would have had the chance to ages ago if it wasn't for us doing so well in the competition.. I wouldn't take any notice of them.

For a few minutes after the goal we took the game to Real Madrid .

If either of bale's break into their box where Sergio Ramos was all at sea and his long throw to VDV had borne fruit we could have been looking at a massive upset .

As it is their experience and patience began to tell and they spent more time in our half with the innevitable result .

Of course keeping possession was going to be difficult when we were down to 10 men but they are just much better at this sort of passing in the Spanish league .

After the evidence of playing Real and Sevilla I'd like to see us get more exposure to playing Spanish sides , even if it is in the Europa .

We've got a very good side but the ship as a whole was spoiled by trying to save a halpenny worth of tar on the strikers .

We're much better than what we saw at the Bernebau. we have some really good players capable of CL level should remember we got the the quarter finals in our first season (not bad)...but to really compete we need additional quality up front, as much as I've enjoyed Defoe his games not full enough for this level (squad player) Crouch Pav just not good enough.

Also we need to learn we can always be open away from home we need to use Palacios Sandro Huddlestone in away games.

We are not overrated imo.

Just a couple factors changed the whole face of the game yesterday.

1. Lennongate

2. Crouchies madness

I thought we done really well in the first half to only go in 1-0 down. Real HAD to come out and spank us as I would say that we do have a bit of a reputation for coming back from the dead (ok maybe not the dead but you know what I mean) this season and I think I am right in saying that we have got most of our points from losing positions so for this part of our game I think we have raised a few eyebrows.

Anyways.... we have'nt been top drawer for long enough to be rated alonside the likes of the Real's and Barca's of the world but as long as we keep building the team like we have been then we will get the recognition that we all want! Until we get a new stadium then this process will be slow but we will get there I'm sure of it!
