I don't claim to be as knowledgeable about the minutiae of Yid-dom as some on here (those who live close enough, and have time and inclination to attend reserve games, cultivate spies/informants at the lodge, etc. - I'm thinking of you Mr SS57), so I would like to ask a question:

'Arry has been quite vocal about KPB - that the staff should be able to 'make him into a player', 'he looks like a player', 'he could be a player' etc :)rofl: love 'im). But I have never once heard him mention Adel Taraabt, nor have I ever seen him in a squad list. We have all heard 'Arry saying it doesn't take him long to make his mind up regarding whether someone is 'a player' or 'not a player' :)rofl:). So, is Adel injured at the moment, or has 'Arry given him the once over in training and decided he is crap:shrug:
Which is it?

I think KPB is a step ahead in his progression and has a higher profile, hence Harry has commented on him. KPB has played a bit of top flight football, been voted german young player of the year, and is also more Harrys type of player (big, strong, athletic)

Are we sure that when talking about KPB that Redknapp isn't saying 'playa'?

I think maybe Harry is getting home with the downies and using a bit of ghetto lingo to suggest that KPB is rather good with members of a female nature (translation...he is/could be a 'playa')

He's the new Zinadine Zidan, don't you know.

Harry's just saving him until we play some Italian opposition so Adel can't launch into a headbutting routine.

I reckon he's decided he's not a very good player. I'm hopeful I'll get over it.

Have to say, this is a really good question. I've been wondering this too so would also welcome any informed views from the true WHLologists.

My take is that he's not terribly impressed so far as I think he would have bigged him up publicly if he thought that he had a part to play in the first team.

Adel is a terrible Footballer, bad attitude and not many attributes that make him any good or stand out. the odd fancy flick and pass are not enough and a cameo against West Ham is not enough for everyone to be raving about him. I don't get why he has such a rep as being some amazing player. his been looked at by 3 managers now all deemed not good enough, its time we sent the lad packing back to France.

A 'terrible' footballer? Are you serious? On the contrary, he's a very gifted one—the question is, is he capable of putting those gifts at the team's disposal? So far, that seems not to have been the case.

He has some skills, maybe he could be half time entertainment or on a McDonalds advert. but in a team sport he is useless.

Well put

Anybody actually consistently watched the stiffs this season and would like to give us a progress report on him ? In the couple of match summaries I've read he's done alright but isn't standing out as different class

I thought they got on well. Isn't that Adel sitting with Harry, Jamie and Louise on the Wii adverts!

I feel a post about the technicalities of the award he won coming on....no that I would be so pedantic of course.

But hasn't it been explained by someone or other on here that the award was not actually the young player of the year in the traditional sense? But more like a Eurovision song contest prize he was awarded for his creative goal celebration dances (or best young hair style award, one of the two I'm sure)

if he was any good you would assume we would know by now. i think its a safe bet that this kid is not going to cut the mustard in the prem he loves himself to much. i don't know but he strikes me as a lad with serious attitude and will quite likely never make it but in his own mind be the best player to grace the planet.
