I would like to see one or two players come in, but another overhaul of the team would screw up next season.

But it looks like it will just be a couple of players

I'd agree with that.

For me it should be 3 - a Berbatov replacement (tall, goalscoring #9), a Carrick replacement (holding ballplaying DM) and a Lee replacement (solid LB backup).

Personally I think Dos Santos, Bale and O'Hara give us enough cover for Modric at LM.

However, traditionally Redknapp has had the highest turnover of players of any manager in the league, so I wont put any money on it being a quiet summer!

willl be a different approach to transfers, Redknapp likes to pull out the unexpected as shown at Pompey with the likes of Yakubu, Muntari, Krancjar amongst others.

Should be interesting but as others have said, an overhall of the whole squad again is not what needs to happen. Stability breeds progress which is proven at the more (relatively) successful sides both in playing staff and managerial/backroom staff.

Thats one reason why I love Harry, it's quite exciting really as he brings in players we probably have not heard of or know much about, then gel them into a good side like he did at Portsmouth with the names you have mentioned, if he can find anyone like that then i'll be very happy.

I don't expect harry to spend 10's of millions this time round either, I think the dire situation we were in when he arrived forced his hand a bit into the big fee's like Palacios for instance, i'd expect 3 players all under the £10 million bracket, a few million here and there unless Boro go down and Downing becomes available around £6 million or so, he must have a relegation release clause.

Bit worrying:

http://www.footballfancast.com/blog/tottenham/redknapp-prepares-fantasy-football/12286

At West Ham he was involved in 134 transfers in seven years as manager. That amounted to trading an entire team every season and eventually wore down the patience of the chairman Terry Brown.

Things did not change in his first spell at Portsmouth. Indeed, the chairman Milan Mandaric claimed that during two and a half years, 44 players were brought in by Redknapp, using 31 different agents.

We really don't need more than 2 or 3 transfers this summer, I'm hoping Harry realizes this and Levy will keep an eye on him at least.

Left Mid OR Left back, depending on what Bale will end up as.

Maybe Centre Mid if we sell a few - less quantity more quality.

No strikers please, we have enough of them as it is thank you.

I think this is the first time in a while people are praying for a quiet one.

I certainly am, and I love the transfer malarkey.

Overhaul not required. Additions to strengthen, maybe Downing'll do for me.

With Portsmouth though he got them from the bottom of the Championship to the EPL so i would expect most clubs in that situation to have a high turnover of players. You will get the players like Merson who helped get them up that couldn't still do it in the EPL. Then you buy players to keep you in the league, if you succeed you then buy players like Muntari, Crouch, Johnson, Krancjar etc. Sunderland did much the same under Roy Keane. I very much doubt there will be major changes, there doesn't need to be. Results recently have shown consistency is the key.

did the same at bournemouth and left the club in a really bad state financially. Buying in and selling on and 'alledgedly' pocketing 10% of every deal.

He inherited really poor squads at all his previous squads though. When he left both West Ham and Portsmouth they had significantly better squads then when he arrived. With spurs he will know that the quality is already there he just needs players to complement what we already have.

There is no way under current form and ability that Bale will replace BAE at left back so you may want to leave the left bacl position out of your statement!!

Where does Harry get all the players from? Scouting networks? agents? it's quite baffling with the amount of players he deals with.

Personally, even in the heady days of Jol, I had always admired the way Harry bought certain players and I use to wonder, why didnt we go for that player? Hopefully he will bring that element of his managerial prowess to us, so other club supporters can be envious instead!

I'd rather have the manager get the best out of what's available to him, like Hodgson, Bruce, Zola&Clarke, Moyes, rather than constant surgery. Harry has his fair share of flops as well as the occasional hit, though in general Pompey's squad value has increased under him. Atm we really don't need high turnover, the squad we have now will reap benefits from constantly playing together over a season, then we can follow Everton and maybe tinker a bit but not too much. I think we still lack some fluency in attack - in the final third our moves tend to break down so we're not creating many clear-cut chances - but I think that a striker upgrade and a more settled squad will improve that over time.

As long as I get to see a few glimpses of Ryan Mason next season I will be a happy man.

He looks brilliant, give him time and patience to flourish then we may have a real talent on show.

Bubble, man, enough with the Barry! Not going to happen.

How much would you pay for Jones?

no more then 6-7m for Jones. Jones would only be an option if they get relegated as he is supposed to have a relegation release clause to that affect.

Remember Barry is a spurs fan and if none of the top 4 want him (Liverpool, Chelsea, United do not need him and the scum have no money) he may be tempted to join us. Looks like Villa will finish 6th and we will finish 7th with momentum going into next season so its certainly not a backwards step for him

would quite like D'Alessandro and move Modric to CM :) As for strikers Crouch or Jones would be acceptable for Bent.

They would have sold him to Liverpool though

But they didnt because liverpool woudlnt match Villas high asking price, and IMO i can see the price going up even more this year with them pushing closer to the top of the table, afew more signings and they could be looking even better next season (not as good as us of course  )

Well yeah they wanted £18m, but they were certainly willing to let him go if that valuation was met.

O'Neill said this in August:

"I have agreed with Gareth now that Liverpool have got all the time in the world if they want to raise the money. That's the case. That's it. The ball is firmly in Liverpool's court, that's fine, not a problem."

Its not a case of Villa not being willing to sell him, I personally think £20m would land him, as bubble says, but I don't see Barry wanting to come to us.
