Yeah I also see this as great news. Don't think it's a good signing for Arsenal and Leicester lose one of their most important players.

It's also going to trigger a domino effect at Leicester, as long as everybody was staying they had a chance to keep everybody but when one leaves they will all want out.

What are Leicester fans saying over in the Grammar thread?

http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/106547-vardy/page-3

From near the bottom of that page on. Really enjoyable for the most part.

A lot blaming his missus. Some saying he only has a year left anyway.

This is my favourite though

Bound to play us in August, we'll be on the end of some of his dives, all hate him then he'll be injured until World Cup 2018 where Roy picks him because he plays for Arsenal.

This is the worse. Someone hold me.

Contrary to the general LeScum hatred, I think this is a good move for them. I was happy when they missed out on Suarez a few years back, but they've been crying out for a high-end goalscorer and Vardy would be that. I don't think he'll become rubbish suddenly, but depending on how he adapts to the way ArseScum play, he may not perform as well as last term. It's hard to know what changed for him to turn him into the prolific striker he became, but he has quality, just a late bloomer.

(That strike vs. Liverpool was sensational).

Either way, it's a good move for them. A change to go for a proven English striker.

It's something that ought to spur us on to improve our squad also.

Hope they confirm it on the 13th. Perfect way for them to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of signing Francis Jeffers by paying over the odds for another one trick pony with one good top flight season under his belt

At least at Arse he can continue his regimented PED programme..... allegedly :cautious:

Great news. I dislike vardy but can't quite come to terms with hating him. This puts him over the edge and brings balance to the world.

Please may it happen.

Can understand Vardy going. It's not going to get any better than this year at Leicester - and the smart man leaves on a high.

9 years in non-league and then the chance to play for one of the most successful clubs in England and get set for life, awfully tempting.

For Arsenal it seems a slightly more curious transfer, will he adapt to their way of playing, and fit into their dressing room culture?

Actually think Leicester getting Walcott could be a genius move. Their medical team is obviously better at their job than Arse's and if he stayed fit and found some confidence he could slot into Vardy's role with ease.

Realistically Vardy will never have had high wages, relative to other footballers. Aside from his last and maybe the contract before that. This would be his last chance to secure a multi-million pound contract. He'd probably be stupid not to take it

He is nearly 30 and has one good season to his name in the top flight (he scored only 5 league goals the season before). I have him very much in the mould of a Marcus Stewart, James Beattie, Kevin Phillips on season wonder player. A very surprising move on Wenger's part of true.

England's strikeforce at the Euros could be a Tottenham and Arsenal partnership

Crazy stuff! I'd be suprised if Leicester didn't offer him the moon on a stick to stay.
