As I've said, it makes Saturday all that bit more important for Arsenal. I'd still rather they beat Chelsea, but at least it's going to be a lot more significant that one team will have to drop points. I just wish we had a quarter of the belief and fearlessness that Wigan showed today in our squad.
So our master plan begins to take shape - we lure the Arse into a false sense of security by embarking upon the most diabolical run of form imaginable, they take their foot off the gas and start dropping points having thought they were home and dry. In the meantime we coast to third having won our final five games of the season by margins of 6-0. Easy. It's all starting to make sense now.
As I said, I'd probably still prefer a Gooner win because I think catching them is a huge ask. But at least I can sit back on Saturday morning and enjoy it now, knowing that whatever happens we can capitalise on it if we've got the bottle.
QPR A - Strong home form and scoring freely
Blackburn H - 5 straight defeats
Bolton A - 10 defeats from 16 home games
Villa A - Copious injuries, fans in revolt and very negative tactics
Fulham H - A strong unit with some very skillful players who can get a goal
