Took a while to get going, just needed to show more composure and we'd be ahead. Need to concentrate until the whistle but good signs. Eriksen I think is a step too far, and isn't really effective. I would say stick Soldado in front of Adebayor but the latter doesn't seem to be quite at the races. We need some pace, so might be tempted to bring on Lennon for Chadli. Townsend may let the occasion get to him.

Lamela played a few good balls though in that spell at the end. One of which was a great ball that was a goal if Ade didnt completely fuck off. The other, Ade made an okay effort at it right at the end of the 45.

Full backs have been great. Rose seems to have grown a lot as a player during the summer.

I think chadli has been worse than Eriksen but Chadli is a great aerial threat and they are weak in that department

I'll trade Soldado's intelligent play and Lennon's speed for Ade and Eriksen casualness.. height is not much needed so Ade can vacate.. not as if he had been excellent in holding up the play either...

for all Eriksen 'creative' passes we have been craving, Capoue and Mason seemed to put in more key passes forward than he did...

Both teams though are giving a bit too much time on the ball in dangerous areas. We could do with cutting this out, Rose and Kaboul are doing a good job of getting about them when the ball gets into the final third and the others could probably learn from them.
