My problem really is poch ATM.

My problem with him is that he has no plan b. Stubborn just like AVB.

It's fine when you are at somebody like Southampton who don't expect to win most games where teams come to attack you you can go and press like a maniac and totally surprise them it works it's the element of surprise If Southampton lost nobody moaned or made a fuss they didn't expect to win games so the gung ho crazy approach would work.
But with us we expect to win most games teams stand off against us so when you press without any coordination it makes it easy for teams to pass around us. What I fail to see with poch is pressing is what's the method to pressing them we just run straight at them don't press them onto a weaker foot or so on don't press to cut off passing lines. It's to easy for teams. You can't press a team that's sitting deep vs you!. You win the ball up the pitch YEH maybe? But they are still in shape you can't break them down that way.
His stubbornness will cost us today especially if we press against arsenal they will rip us apart but today its on pochettino's head if we wants to remain stubborn and have no plan b so be it.
He either develops another tactic or he can have his p45 by January.

We either today set up rigid with a 4-5-1

Lloris
Naughton Fazio Vert Rose
Capoue Stambouli
Lamela Dembele Eriksen
Kane

And bully them and try to pinch a point

Or we carry on doing what poch is doing chase the ball with no plan or ideas and watch arsenal pass around us and score willy nilly

Do you really think every week teams were suprises by Southampton and the fact they pressed? That's the only reason the won?

Of course not, beyond the first few games, the. every team would have been scouted and teams would know what to expect but they still couldn't always overcome it. They won because the had a good philosophy which was implemented very well. That takes time.

Always hear the 'suprise' factor spoken about as if it can account for a whole season and it's rubbish. Maybe for a cup game against an unfamiliar team or early in a season... But over 30+ games. If after 5 games the armchair fan knew about the Southampton pressing game I would think prem managers/coaches would also...

Give the man some time.

Well done on making an argument without any hint of logic, but with a regiment of straw soldiers.

Just look at the difference in quality between the two probable line ups.

How the hell can levy/ENIC/ and the three managers since Harry let this happen?!

It's disgraceful really.

We're going to get thumped.

I'll be very happy to be wrong though. I'm going with the principle of under-promise, over-deliver...

Just put Mason & Kane in every position. Because they are beautiful.

They've always had a better line-up than us.

You don't need to fucking Spam every thread with ENIC stuff.

Bollocks.

3/4 years ago there was nothing between the 2 teams. The last 2 years there has been a massive gap formed.

This is down to Levy and ENIC and the three managers since

We are going to get absolutely smashed today.

And you know what?! Might not be a bad thing. The natives are getting restless and this time all the anger is going to be aimed at the board.

Something needs to chance because as it stands the place stinks and we are going backwards

Stoke won at city, WBA beat us to name but 2 very recent and very unlikely victories. Have some faith.
It's different. They are well organised, reasonably settled sides, who the opposition underestimated.
I don't get all this 'have faith' and 'in Poch we trust' stuff. Why should we 'have faith' and 'trust'?
When Arsenal say 'In Wenger we trust' they do it with some justification- he's won two titles with them and qualified for the Champions' League umpteen times. When this fella Poch wins a trophy for us or gets us playing great football, I'll begin to 'trust' as I'll have a reason to. But until then, he's just a P45 in waiting, I'm afraid.

I think there is a chance we might see Soldado start this one. I think Poch may have taken him off right after his goal to keep him hungry.

You do know that you can go to see a Harry at QPR, don't you? While you're there, do ask him why he threw away a once in a lifetime opportunity to challenge for the title. After that, Luka Modrić left and we have never filled that hole. All he had to do was to sign that contract, but he was worried that it would dent his chances for the a England job.

Unfortunately I agree with this.
Poch could well be a top manager one day but at the time of his appointment we needed someone with experience,a winner and someone the players would respect.
Will support him all the way and must give him time now he is here but things will get worse before they get better IMO

agreed. only van persie would've clearly gotten into our 11/12 team. now three seasons later only lloris clearly gets into theirs(i'd take a fit walker as well though).

Wow. I know it's very likely we will be tonked, but this thread sounds like we've already been beaten. Cheer up! The tone here is like we are fighting relegation!

Can you remind me again what ENIC has to do with the NLD match thread?

You know, it's kind of in the title. We're meant to be discussing the MATCH

Save your rants until after the match.
