Ok, shit day, but on the positive side I think Avb was tactically good today. We were the better team 11 vs 11, good team selection, and good changes at half time. He was hoping Dempsey would turn up, which he didn't, but nice idea to remove the fullbacks. Would have been better to see Carroll on earlier, I though the lad was outstanding, great little player and surely deserves a start. I would have started him in place of Defoe as I said before the game, but I can understand the way Avb went. We saw some character in the 2nd half, and Sandro as always was exceptional. My fave player by a mile. Vertongen looks much better at cb.

Carroll is twice the player hudd is and we looked much more dangerous with him on. Just watch the little angled runs he makes and his constant movement and thinking. He's modric's replacement (music to Levy's ears), hope AVB can see it and bring him on sharpish.

Needs to be playing ahead of Hudd from now on.

That's was my main woory when we hired Aston Villa ...the bloke couldn't organise a defence to save his life

This was my worry too certain aspects of our game have gone backwards and the concern here is that this shit defending and now 4 defeats out of 5 will see confidence erode away from the team and that's when press and fans will get on avb/levys back and then that's when it will get nasty I feel.

It's west ham next and I am not looking forward to it I have to confess.

I can see us losing at home to West Ham I really can. We are a poor side who are leaking goals left right and centre. We have just been stuffed by the worst Arsenal team in 20 years.

Sadly we tied the noose for ourselves. Adebayor is a class a idiot - not only is it a NL derby but with Howard give-me-an-excuse-to-fuck-Spurs-over Webb he should have known that he would be off for a stunt like that. Bale is getting on my tits more and more - such a selfish little bugger and you can tell the team feel the same (JD's reaction after the 4-3 opporunity). We could and should have made it 4-4 but sometimes (a lot of the time in our case recently) things go against you.
AVB faced an uphill struggle with being down to 10 men for 80 minutes+ of the game, but the team only woke up with 5 minites to go. You could see the sheer terror after Ade's red card. There was no fight, no desire to win the ball back (barring Sandro). Our passing is a joke, we don't convert our chances. Everytime they went forward I thought "'ere we go". When we went forward I was like "don't bother". Bale going on his 70 yard pointless sprints (does he have no dribbling skills anymore?) with no end product.
We are in a real spot here. In the shit more like it. But we could have pulled back today. The first 17 minutes were wonderful (4 shots to 0 in our favour, no real threat). And then Ade happened. Better luck next time eh?
