Or just, you know, look back at history. This thread was while we were fifth, coming off a loss, and in our final 6 Premier league matches had both Chelsea and Arsenal at home, and both Manchester clubs away, to come. I wonder how that turned out....

I really hope that AVB will get this one right or he will lose all the support from the dressing room as well as the fans.

Under Redknapp, we played attractive football, finished 4th and felt we were unlucky that we didn't finish higher up in the table. Under AVB, we played boring and unattractive football, and felt lucky with the few wins that we had.

I understand that there are a few key injuries and departures such as King, Modric, Parker, VDV, BAE, Kaboul & Dembele, but it's the style of football that worries me. With all the passing back to the keeper and lack of creativity coupled with not getting the right results, it seems that Daniel had repeated the same mistake, namely replacing a successful manager with a unproven manager in the EPL.

To be honest, if we lose this game in a disgraceful fashion, I could see the beginning of the end of the AVB reign, and please don't let that happen.

Most ignorant footballing post I have read in a while. I guess you are more into the un technical english style of play, who loves the no nonsense style of english footballers, and probably is oblivious to the fact tom carroll with his style and recycling and competent use of the ball has similar style,physcique and ability to that of a spanish player, yes a spanish player you know those players that are currently dominating world football..

Football is not about being built big, its about positioning, use of the ball, timing of runs etc, strength plays a part for players with less technical ability , look at kyle walker for crying out loud!!

Really think you should move on and support stoke with comments like this... typical poor english football mentality upbringing post that is.

you could not be more wrong. jack wilshire is a proper center midfiled player.. he has passion and skill and a real end product to his game . he is small but makes up for it in some many different ways. yes he might be a little scumbag off the pitch if stories are true but there is a real purpose and desire about his play on the field.... caroll is absolute no where near that nor will never be... thats why arsenal get all the best kids and we get the best of the rest..

its sad fact of life that in the english game today u simply have to be physically of a good size and physique otherwise u have to a truly exceptional other to make it.... caroll is neither... oh and i admire stoke cos they take no shit.. spurs could learn alot from stoke.
