If things fall right for him, he could be a big hit for them, fingers crossed the fuck it up and he ends up anywhere else but............

Yeah I saw this.

they have done very well to amass so much incredible young talent.

I think they’ll use Jesus out wide and balogun through the middle next season.

But to have martinelli, Saka, Saliba, Balogun for next to nothing is crazy

Balogun isn’t that great guys I wouldn’t worry about him being the next big thing at Arsenal. Loads of his goals have been lucky drops of the ball, horrendous goalkeeping or penalties

There's nothing lucky about a striker being in the right place at the right time if it keeps happening.

"Saliba next to nothing"? Didn't he cost £26m?

Further more he's entering the last 12 months of his contract? If he was at Spurs, we'd be raging about spending £26m on a young player to only have 2 seasons (22-23 & 23-24 out of him.

Watch his highlights and you’ll see what I mean. If it keeps happening over a long period then yeah but half a season? Nah.

I'll be honest and say I haven't watched him at all. Just saying Strikers generally make their own luck by knowing exactly where to be at the right time, and having the reactions to make that count.

I said those 4 for next to nothing.

They got them for 30m in total. Which is nuts.

We would yes, but if that one season helped us win a title I’m sure we wouldn’t be too upset.

Yeah I agree with you and he looks decent but around half his goals have been pretty unimpressive. It’s easy to look at the stats and see “Oh he’s scored more than Mbappe etc etc” but it takes more than a purple patch in the French league to make me start worrying about him being another Saka, he isn’t. He’ll be lucky to even get in ahead of Nketiah and will probably make them some money if he comes back and performs in England but he’s not gonna be threatening to displace any of their front 3 in my opinion

Not sure if the term is used any more but one used back in the day was a "sniffer". Those are the ones who couldn't score outside of the box to save their life but have a nose for the goal. Sniffers were always dependent on the system of play they were in as they might not be able to carry the ball into the box, but they would anticipate the ball movement and then get there before opposing defenders did. Lots of ugly goals, never pretty ones. If the half a season is in a new system of play, then he might be legit.

I’m not saying he doesn’t look a decent prospect but I have my doubts he’ll have an impact at Arsenal for various reasons. They are at a level that’s hard to attain right now and Jesus is fantastic with Nketiah also being a good back up who has developed his game to suit their new style well which I previously didn’t think he was capable of. It’s also the French league, I’m pretty sceptical of most players coming from that league unless they are absolutely stand out, Saliba was stand out and even then there were still some doubts until he had proven himself in the PL. Balogun has never really looked like a prospect that will do anything more than earn Arsenal some money from a sale one day like a Brewster or Solanke kind of talent that hasn’t got the ability to play for a top club but will interest lower level PL clubs and fit in well with their style of play where a “sniffer” as you call it is better suited

Can't argue with that. Many of us thought Vinnie or Soldado would come good. Our approach to the game didn't suit their skill set and tells why recruitment and culture is so important.

It'll only be a tumble for me if they lose to city and then fail to beat Villa.

Champions dont tend to go on runs of 4 games where they fail to win.
I’d bite your hand off for a City win, no matter what happens against Villa.

If City win they will go ahead of Arsenal in the league and whilst Arsenal have a game in hand, City would then still have a home game against them to cancel that out.
