You just know that somewhere out there is a lifelong Aston Villa fan who has a passionate hatred for Leicester (maybe a Leicester fan slept with his wife, or bullied him at school), and who is having the worst season of his life.

:woot:

Sorry, man. That's gotta suck for you.

Feel sorry for the Villa fans. They've always been a decent lot - funny and proud but without the arrogance that seems to infect so many fans, despite their record of success.

They're one of the original grand old clubs for me, along with the likes of ourselves, Arsenal, United, Liverpool and Everton. Unfortunately it looks like they're going to the way of some of the other big clubs, such as Forest, Wednesday and Leeds (who, despite them being scum, I'd like to see back in the top flight). I really fear for them if they get relegated - the club is in a total mess and looks like it could easily slip down to League 1 before they can properly rebuild. And it will take a huge rebuilding job because they have absolutely nothing in the player base to build from at the moment.

Just quite sad really and a lesson for any club on the dangers of a few seasons of mis-management.

You must not know many Villa fans. I've lived in the Midlands for 20 years now and have worked with dozens, if not hundreds of them. Their arrogance and delusion is on a par with Liverpool. The only difference is that they aren't publicised as much.

These last few seasons have been a joy, as they've finally opened their eyes to the fact that they aren't as big or relevant as they were 120 years ago. But even in the summer, after selling their two best players, plenty of them believed they had brought in players that would push them in to the top 6.

And back around the time they were competing for top 4 spots, they had a 'We hate Spurs' thread that must have surpassed 300 pages.

I hope they get relegated. And then get relegated again. And stay there for a few years.

Not only is this comment off base, it is also a bit xenophobic, dont ya think?

On the American owners you listed, trust me when I say you are wayyyy off base when you say they are failing because they have no clue about the PL and European football. Why? Because that would imply they are actually good owners of their American teams. The fact is, they arent. At all. The Bucs(Glazer's team) are a shitshow. The Red Sox(FSG's team), outside of a few great years under a great GM, have largely been a shitshow, especially recently. Lerner owned the Browns until 2012, and that franchise was a complete and utter shitshow under him as well(to be fair though, it still is). With Moores? Good luck, Everton. The Padres were largely a shit show under him. Kroenke's teams have been very meh.

Wrt the investment coming into Palace and Bournemouth...LOL @ Palace. Taking investment from the owner of the most incompetent franchise in the NBA(the 76ers), which is a very hard feat to accomplish considering James Dolan(the Knicks owner) is one of the most incompetent and meddlesome owners in sports history, and the most incompetent franchise in the NHL, does not seem like the brightest of ideas Steve Parish has ever had:eek:

Bournemouth's new investors are completely new to the sports scene I believe. I know nothing about them.

Also, some English owners have been remarkably shit also. So nationality doesnt really have much to do with it.

probably, I blame Trump!;)

Hahaha. The fact the election is essentially now between him and a corrupt criminal is really quite sad

It's quite worrying the likes of Trump and Boris Johnson are anywhere near any countries decision process. I think it's where Farage went in the UK, he's got too good a hair cut!

Edit "corrupt criminal" ??

Corrupt criminal = Clinton. The whole putting top secret classified information on a private unsecure server thing is a no no. Corruption? Foreign countries and foreign corporations send tons of money to the Clinton Foundation then get favors from her state department

Not the thread for this though.

By the time we play them in just a few weeks time they will be basically relegated (I mean, they kind of are right now). An even more unmotivated Villa against us should be fun.

Will be a sad day if Villa go down. The Premier League seems to be being slowly colonized by southern teams, and mediocre clubs like Bournemouth and Watford are replacing more historic clubs with bigger fan bases and the league is becoming poorer for it.

This is a good point. The top of the game is now completely dominated by London, Manchester, and Liverpool based clubs. The London clubs all have the obvious advantage of their location but the days of the midlands powerhouse clubs are long gone.

We've got a bit more variety these days in terms of having two south coast clubs and a Welsh club which has obviously never happened until recent history, but in terms of clubs who can actually win stuff, those three cities have really monopolised the league.

Of course Leicester may prove the exception - who knows if they will take the Villa mantle of the one big midlands club.

I still think it's a real shame what's happened to Villa. Makes me sad tbh. Would much rather see horrible pointless clubs like Sunderland or better yet Chelsea go down. Sunderland are an absolute waste of a Premier League place. Good for 6 points though usually.

Why can I see them turning up and being solid as a rock for the only game this season?

Of course he is egotistical. He is a football manager. What has that got to do with anything?

No he isn't and when he was he still wasn't, he was a farce & quickly found out. And those that say he should've been given a chance at our job full time need to sit down & have a word with themselves. Like Harry he can say popularist things to get in but he can't maintain it and then it's always someone else's fault.

I work with a guy like that and luckily we are moving him onto a different business unit this week. He has been useful at best but incredibly destructive overall.

Not of course mostly the same foreign players who Poch sidelined and were sold last TW - Capoue, Kaboul, Paulhino, Soldado et al ?

Think you are allowing your view of Sherwood to read too much into some of his comments.

Lamela? Tim hated him
Lennon was loved but Poch sold him on...

Why not mention them? Tim was shit and even Remi would've done as least as well for spurs as Tim did.

Feel a bit sorry for the Villa fans. Their team are'nt even putting up a fight against relegation, since before Christmas Villa have just given up trying to stay in the Premiership.

Being shit is one thing, but not putting up a fight to stay in the Prem is totally unacceptable.

Villa have been so badly managed and run that I can easily see a double relegation and Villa going the way of Sheffield Wednesday, Forest and Leeds.
