Yeah great atmosphere today. There was one point, I think the first stray pass (by Mason) when everyone seemed to jump on it, but after that it was positive the whole way...... we played very well which obviously helped (chicken & egg?!).

Spot on

Sad when the groans go up for a kid trying to be positive when he misplaces a pass

I agree with the sentiment but actually he's older than Eriksen, Lamela, Davies, Bentaleb Kane and Dier so he was actually one of the older players on the park. Just shows how young our team is.

Absolutely cracking atmosphere today loved it!

It is all very well saying we were the 12th man and should be like that every game but the team has to give us something to work with too and the last few games at home have been such lifeless performances its been hard to get excited about anything.

A few reasons for the better atmosphere today:
-Later kick-off
-Everton came to play and not just defend
-The starting line-up was refreshing with lots of home grown talent and other players like Eriksen, Soldado,LENNON!! etc who the fans know try their best and really care, not like Kaboul,Ade etc.
-We actually played pretty well and had chances for us to get excited about.

Not sure how this line-up would do vs say Chelsea, City, Arsenal etc but it was refreshing and exciting and the fans responded to that, Soldado getting that goal really helped aswell.

The new song about Arsenal is also very catchy love it.

COYS!

What was the new song?

Sorry was reading the thread backwards, just seen it

Presumably that's to the tune of "When I was just a little girl, I asked my mother, what will I be"?

Slightly related but I can't for the life of me understand fans who always leave early to get a half time beer. What's the point? They missed the best part of the game, got in people's way and all to pay £4 for a plastic bottle of 3% piss.

ive often wondered over the last couple of seasons why we start every home game with such lethargy and lack of intent,

The old commentator cliche of opposing teams quietening down the home support by slowing down the play and taking the sting out of the game seems to be what we do to ourselves.

I always think the crowd are desperate for a reason or spark to get behind the team but the noise is quickly dissipated when you are chanting into a void.

Its a symbiotic relationship. both feed each other

Otherwise you stand in the queue so long you spend the whole of 1/2 time queuing and then you miss the start of the 2nd half, which is normally more interesting than the final minutes of the 1st 1/2

Given, you don't have to drink beer.

Exactly. Why pay that much for a ticket to potentially miss a game defining moment just so you can get a quick beer? Seems a bit odd to me. People left on 42-43 minutes when there was more than enough time for a goal, obviously. I might leave literally in injury time if the ball has just gone out for a goal kick but leaving earlier seems stupid.

Not a big deal just a bit annoying having to get up to let these jokers go by.

Was in Block 38 South Lower and it was the best atmosphere since Champions League days...

No drummer - just boardings being hit. The highlights were the catchy Arsenal fan song that was being sung across the Park Lane and Shelf Side and Soldado being sung off at Half Time.

But the chant that made the difference was the "Blue White Army / YIDS" chant that was kept up non-stop for the last 20 minutes when Everton were coming at us. That's what Mason was on about when he mentioned the fans helping out. Spine-tingling.:singing:

Always wondered about that myself. You're that desperate for a lukewarm Carlsberg that you miss the greatest moment at White Hart Lane for 2 years?

One thing that made the pleasure of Soldado's goal even more intense was that the vitriolic arsehole who chants about raping opposition players' mothers and calls every spurs and opposition player a 'berkshire hunt' had departed for his half-time beer 4 minutes earlier. Didn't hear a peep out of him all second half. Thank you, Bobby Soldado.

Yeah sorry about that. It was actually a cheeky glass of red.

Soldado:

“The fans were fantastic with their support for us - we need them.

"It’s very easy to play when the supporters help the team because you feel in your body that you can give more when they support you. We hope the team and the fans keep the same feeling going.”

Surprised the Arsenal song has taken so long to be sang at the Lane, its being doing the rounds on away trips for a little while now ...catchy song and great to sing when a little lubricated.(y)
