Late kick off, a team who comes to play for a change, great effort, and a cracking game....

It was a great place to be this afternoon and I was really happy at the way we responded to conceding a goal.

For whatever reason everything was better today. The team played with desire and intent, the crowd were bang up for it. The most fun I've had at a game since Ledley's testimonial.

That was my first game this season and I was shocked at how good the atmosphere was. Was also shocked at how quiet the Everton fans were.

Don't think the drummer was there today, I think it was just people banging on the hoardings (I may be wrong). The Parklane was brilliant today. Looking forward to watching it back.

How did it come across on TV? Did the commentators mention the atmosphere? It really was rocking. I think 3 home grown players helped but, really, it was just the desire that could be seen on the team; it transferred to the crowd.

Great atmosphere today

While the later kick off helped, it also shows that if the players put the effort in and show intent from the first whistle, then the crowd will get behind them, even if we go a goal down.

Absolutely cracking atmosphere today loved it!

It is all very well saying we were the 12th man and should be like that every game but the team has to give us something to work with too and the last few games at home have been such lifeless performances its been hard to get excited about anything.

A few reasons for the better atmosphere today:
-Later kick-off
-Everton came to play and not just defend
-The starting line-up was refreshing with lots of home grown talent and other players like Eriksen, Soldado,LENNON!! etc who the fans know try their best and really care, not like Kaboul,Ade etc.
-We actually played pretty well and had chances for us to get excited about.

Not sure how this line-up would do vs say Chelsea, City, Arsenal etc but it was refreshing and exciting and the fans responded to that, Soldado getting that goal really helped aswell.

The new song about Arsenal is also very catchy love it.

I think the four hours of extra drinking time might have had something to do with it.

It will have something to do with it. 1.30 Sunday kick offs really are an atmosphere killer.

Nice to not get slagged off for going to support my team for once though.

Sounded really quiet on the Tele. Poch had to ask everyone to get loud too!?

Sky must have more mics in the away corner. From Block 34 it sounded like Everton fans made precious little noise, especially second half. We, on the other hand, barely stopped singing for most of the game, yet it didn't come across like that when I watched the game back.

I liked that there was an immediate shout of "Come on you Spurs" when they scored. In other games we probably would have started moaning and groaning by then. It helped too that we equalised soon, but the crowd was definitely much better and more positive today.
I think that's because we could see the effort being put in - conceding didn't dampen that.

I was thinking that the "Arsenal fan on a string" song was probably the TV directors' worst nightmare given that it was running for fucking ages at one point. I would imagine they turned down what was coming through the mic's nearest the Park Lane/Shelf corner.

Interesting that a few people have commented on the fact that Everton came to play as well. I agree - it was a bloody good match!

In fairness that's happened in nearly every home game this season when the away team have scored. The difference yesterday was that the players actually looked like they want to get back in the game.

Yeah that was the difference for me. There was a big 'Come on you Spurs' right after they scored.

Just a far healthier way to support your side really. And we got rewarded with the players carrying out the game plan to great affect.

Who'd of thought it.

They feed off each other of course, but it if you want to give your team the best possible chance every week its the only way to do it. We;ll have good days and bad but good support will always make a big difference IMO.

Saying one (Support) or the other (Players playing hard/ well) is the more important or that one comes before the other is not really the whole picture. It is a symbiotic relationship. Yesterday the crowd cheered from the off, the players were trying hard and giving it 100% and therefore it is not surprising that the support continued after they went 1 down. They were trying, everyone could see that. if it had gone another way and we had lost the game, but the players had still given their all i imagine there would have been cheering and support throughout.

As it happens, it all seemed to click yesterday. The Away support is outstanding, always has been, and this support will therefore carry through to Wednesday and i hope that the lads give a good account of themselves. I am expecting a loss, certainly, i would be delighted with a draw. Can't see a win in a month of sundays, but just so long as we see the effort being put in it should carry over to Wednesday and beyond, so long as the team keep trying

I thought the drummer was allowed back, on the proviso that he didn't encourage the yid chant? I had visions of the stewards trying to get at the drummer to stop him, but the whole of the block surrounding him so they couldn't get near, whilst screaming Yids back in their faces

It was great to hear that chant again though, really keeps the place rocking
