I wonder with Real Madrids tapping up antics over Gareth Bale, if AVB would snub working for them in the future - given his stance of steadfast dignity in the face of adversity. It was a rumour that they had approached him this summer after Jose left. Here's to hoping.

Things go right and AVB could be here for a long time.

Now has a squad he wants and could achieve unbelievable things.

The age of the squad is good so potentially together for a few years with little outlay on additions.

Has a good training facility, and some young players that offer possibilities of becoming 1st team players in a few years.

In mean time, stadium is built to generate future revenue and re-invest in squad after few years of glory.

If he was going to get one of the top jobs in Spain he'd be a better fit for Barça than Real anyway.

If you compare managers to watches AVB is a Patek Philippe where Jose is a Breitling. Both expensive, very nice and do exactly the same job but one is understated and quietly cool while the other is louder and more extravagant.

To continue the analogy, Wenger is a £9 casio, was great but is very dated

AVB is impressing me more and more every day. His composure infront of the media, his handling of the Bale stuff as well as other transfers has been impressive. I really hope he goes on to achieve something this season as if he does, along with the training ground and new stadium, I think he could be our manager for a very long time - i'm thinking Ferguson and Wenger type stuff.

Meh, I'm not having that.

Wenger is a cock, but he continues to get them into the CL every year (16 years running I think) despite consistently losing their best players. Every year they're written off, every year the finish above Tottenham. They have torn us apart 5-2 twice in the last two seasons - no other team has the ruthlessness to humiliate us like they have done and make no mistakr, Saturday will be a massive test, the way they move the ball around is usually a struggle for us.

AVB has much to prove and now there is no safety net for him.

I'm sure I read the casio is a favourite for IEDs as they are so reliable

The watch can be found the world over and costs only a few euros. According to secret documents obtained by SPIEGEL through the WikiLeaks whistleblower platform, US interrogators at Guantanamo Bay identified potential terrorists by the watch they wore on their wrist.

They're cheap, easy to buy anywhere in the world and, apparently, are the hallmark of a terrorist: a digital Casio wristwatch -- strictly speaking, the black F-91W model or its silver variant, the A-159W. The United States military considers this watch to be "an indicator of al-Qaida training in the manufacture of improvised explosive devices (IEDs)" and with it the identifying feature of a potential terrorist.

His whole demeanour this summer has been very well played. Hasn't let the media bully him over the bale situation and has just quietly gone about his business saying no more and no less than necessary. Really looking like this could be a very good era for us

Agree with this. Wenger is brilliant at what he does still play one of the best brands of football in the world - Needs a help with transfers though.

AVB could be if he wants, the next Wenger from a success point of view and he's also better with zips.

I agree. As much as I dislike them you can't write Arsenal off because they have a horrible habit of pulling it out of the bag when they need to. That is one of the reasons that they are so fucking annoying. Lady luck also seems to shine on them a lot more than it does us.

They have comfortably won 3 games on the trot and have players in form. Sunday is going to be very tricky.

Andre's a class act. Reminds me of Ancelotti in some ways. Given that the club is selling Bale having given assurances otherwise, and has given him Lamela and Eriksen (fingers crossed) instead of Hulk and Willian, he's done well to keep his counsel, and to keep the team in some sort of shape while all this has been going on. He must be a bit upset that the club isn't springing for those full-grown players while we have the chance, but can you imagine what Harry would be like with this much attention and money being chucked around?
