AVB has been quoted publicly several times saying he wants to retire from football at 40
He's 36 this year. That leaves him under five years to do everything he wants to do in the game if he sticks by his word, and he strikes me as the kind of guy who probably will. He also previously traded his home-country champions, and team he supported, after a single year of success to go to Chelsea. This is also the first time he's ever gone into a second season at a club.
Stack all that up and as much as I like AVB, the odds on him leaving in a year or two, regardless of how we do, I would argue, will be pretty short. I would suspect he'll want a shot at a Real or Barca before he's through. So I guess it depends on whether he sticks to his timeline
